EXTENDED PLOT:
Ever since the creation of Narnia, Karya has watched over her tree. To her, her tree was her safe place. She could never think of leaving her tree. During the time of the Long Winter, she slept in her tree. Now, that she was finally awake she knew that hiding in her tree was no longer an option. She would need to fight to protect her land from harm.
DIALOGUE:
1 "Could you please not use my tree as your personal chamber pot?" (Karya)
2 "When we first met, you tried to pee on my home." (Karya)
"I didn't know it was your home." (Edmund)
3 "He's threatening the forest. I'm afraid he may go after the trees." (Karya)
"I'll make sure that no one ever cuts down your tree. I wouldn't know what I'd do if they did." (Edmund)
EXTRA BITS:
*In this story she'll age alongside the Pevensie children until her tree is cut down and she dies. It should be that since she fell in love with Edmund, she'll age as he does. If you want this to go into the 2nd movie, you can have it to where she stops aging when he leaves and sleeps in her tree until he returns. Then when he comes back, she's at the same age as him.
*She will die. Her tree will be cut down and she will fade from existence. Even though it's really sad I feel like it should happen. This can happen after the events of the 1st movie when they are ruling over Narnia or during the 2nd or 3rd movie.
*A villain should be the one to cut down her tree to get to Edmund. Doesn't matter what bad guy you use. It could be one from any of the movies/books or you can make one up yourself. It could be for revenge or because he knows that it will devastate Edmund and lead him to do something drastic.
*During the first movie, there won't be any romance until the characters have been in Narnia for a few years. They're too young for romance. They will have crushes on each other but since they're young they won't really know how to go about them.
*She awakens after the Pevensie children arrive in Narnia and will befriend them when they meet Aslan. She will help fight in the First Battle of Beruna. You can make the story go on and have them meet again during Pince Caspian and maybe even Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
*The tree she should be bound to should be either hazelnut or walnut. The name Karya is an actual name from Greek mythology for a hamadryad who dwelled in a hazelnut or walnut tree. She was one of eight hamadryads that were the daughters of Oxylus and Hamadryas.
*Hamadryads appear to be beautiful women with delicate features seemingly made of softwood. Their hair appears to be made of leaves and foliage that changes color as the season's change. During the spring and summer months, the hair of a dryad is lush and green, while during autumn it turns red and eventually brown in the winter.
*Hamadryads are also allowed to leave the vicinity of their trees and can move far away at any place. They have an excellent sense of direction and are able to return to their rightful trees.
*During their reign, the Pevensies enacted laws that prevented good trees from being unnecessarily cut down. But that won't stop the bad guy that ends up cutting hers down.
*There should be an epilogue where they meet again in Aslan's country after Edmund dies.
