EXTENDED PLOT:
Tala, a beautiful elf, had been able to transform into a wolf since before she could remember. The first time it happened her parents didn't know what to make of their daughter's new power. Shielding her from the prying eyes of Rivendell was their only hope. But many years later a wizard named Gandalf comes to her parents and asks for her help. Gandalf wishes for Tala to trail his company and keep them out of harm's way. His only demand is that she stay hidden from the leader, Thorin Oakenshield.
EXTRA BITS:
*Aconitum is also known as wolf's bane. I thought it would be interesting to call the story by the plant name that is in many fantasy stories for werewolves. Whoever is the love interest, she will refer to them as her aconitum or her bane, meaning her poison. Even though most films, movies, and books show the plant as being only toxic to werewolves, it is a highly toxic plant to humans. On a toxicity scale of one to six, it ranks a six. I can even send you the info on what happens if a person is to actually ingest the plant, it isn't pretty.
*Tala means wolf in Native American.
*She and her family are elves. They left Rivendell to live near the town of Bree. Away from other elves but still be near to a town for necessities.
*Thorin wouldn't appreciate Gandalf recruiting Tala so Gandalf decides to keep Tala a secret.
*You can choose anyone for the love interest. If you do choose either Fili or Kili, they should still die. Please, no major plot changes. The love interest can even be Thranduil, Bard, or Bilbo. Possibly not Thorin though. It would defeat the purpose of her secret. Unless you decide to go with the next two things I have listed which would make a Throin love story a bit easier.
*When the party arrives in Rivendell, Tala will go as well. She will more than likely be recognized by the rest of the elves and possibly her secret will be blown at the same time. Or maybe the secret can keep going.
*If you decide to keep the secret, whoever her love interest is should find out about her but promise to keep the secret from everyone else. Or she can stay in her wolf form and travel with them so it doesn't seem as suspicious?
*She was a child when she first turned. Since elves live long lives she can be very old during the story. Legolas was over 2000 years old during the events of the Lord of the Rings. She can be anywhere from 100 to 2000. It's your choice what you wish to set as her age.
*When she transforms she retains her human thoughts so she won't attack her friends at will. She will try and do everything she can to protect them.
