Before I start, dedication to @teenspiritviva, because I was going through my very few comments (shame on you lot!) and she has commented the most of all of you. So good on you, @teenspiritviva! You're my favourite!!! *wink, wink*

|Jace POV|

I walk down the stairs and open the doors to the kitchen with a smile on my face, much to the surprise of everyone I pass.

"Morning, everyone," I say cheerfully.

"What's up with you?" Alec says, raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing. It's just...really going to be a good day," I say, smiling.

"Okay...," Alec says, looking at me like I've just grown fangs. Which, surprisingly, he's seen someone do. Just not me. Only Simon, our vampire boy, who's actually a Shadowhunter now. Really long story.

"Where is everyone?" I say, scanning the room for Clary.

Isabelle glances up from her phone and looks around the room. "Uh, Jace, everyone's here but Clary."

Shit. Cover up your tracks, Herondale!

"Oh. It felt like we were missing more people because sometimes there are tons of people here, and it just was strange because there are only like ten of us right now," I say, and sigh when I realise that what I said made no sense.

"Uh, Jace?" Simon says. "Did we miss something?"

"No, why would you say that, Simon?" I laugh nervously.

"Because you're acting like an idiot," he answers bluntly.

"Look who woke up on the right side of the bed," I say sarcastically, then turn away from him. "Pass the toast, Isabelle."

"Fine. Don't tell us," Simon mutters. "But don't act like nothing happened, because clearly something did."

"I heard that!" I shot back.

"You were meant too, Mr. I'm-So-Cheerful!" he answers back, raising halfway from his seat.

"Okay, that's enough," Isabelle says, when she see's me raising from my seat as well She looks at both of us warningly and we both shrink down in our seats, avoiding Isabelle's glare. She can be terrifying when she's angry, and Simon and I both know that. "Here you go, Jace." She hands me the toast, but not before giving me one last look.

"Hey guys!" Clary says, bouncing happily into the dining room. I instantly brighten at the sight of her, forgetting all about what happened with Isabelle and Simon just seconds ago.

I watch as Sebastian looks between Clary as she walks cheerfully towards an empty seat, and me as I attempt to hide my wide smile. "Oh Angel," Sebastian sighs, stabbing at his food. Melissa had clearly noticed Sebastian too, because she put her hand out to steady his violent hand.

I hear a commanding voice say my name. "Jace!" I look up at her, and she beckons for me to follow her.

When we exit the room, I grab her hand, but she pulls away. "We can't, Jace. Someone could come out at any moment." She motions towards the door I had just closed.

"Fine," I grumble. "What's up, then?" I slip my hands into the pockets of my jeans, and I watch as her eyes shift down to my...lower area.

"Hey!" I snap my fingers in front her face. "Eyes up here, Fairchild!" She blushes, but contains her self-confidence.

She slips her hand into the cushion of the sofa and pulls out a journal. The same journal that I left on her bed. I smile to myself at the thought of her writing in it.

"I wrote the first entry. It's your turn now," she says quietly, pushing the notebook into my hands.

"Okay," I say, slightly nervous. "What do I write?"

"Whatever you want," she says, smiling.

"Okay," I say again. I look up at Clary and smile. "Love you."

"I love you too, Jace."

"Let's go back in," I say, motioning towards the doors to the dining room.

"Sounds good. Remember. Pissed off," she reminds me.

"Right," I answer, then walk in, glaring as I sit down in my seat. Clary enters twenty seconds later, looking even angrier than me. Good work, Fairchild.

So it's currently 4:15 am in Doncaster, England, but guess who stayed up to write this? Me! Love you all very much, keep reading, commenting, voting, sharing, the whole lot!
