I've noticed my chapters have been getting a lot longer lately . . . Tell me in the comments: is that a good thing or a bad thing for you guys? Also did I tell you that I fucking love Childish Gambino. I love this song "have some love"

Author's POV

Valentina was getting ready for this second time this week, this time she was more dolled up than the night before. Noah couldn't believe it and he also couldn't believe how his new haircut. Mama said it "transformed" him yet his attitude towards her still trying to go out with Ansel didn't change. She ignored him, slicking her unruly and wavy locks back into a slick ponytail then twisted the tail into a low bun.

She pierced her chandelier earring through and applied dark make up. Her eyes were so dark and smokey, a little grey and her lips were wine red. The makeup look complemented her dark skin and the white long-sleeved dress as well. "Noah get me my nude pumps!"

Noah sighed and left the bathroom. "I can't believe this is happening," Noah says to himself. He goes to his mother's room and picks the pumps up from the rack. He took his time bringing them back for his mother.

When he does he catches Valentina looking in the mirror smiling to herself and pinning back any flyaways. She looks back at the door to Noah who's eyebrows are tattooed into a furrow, the boy's face never softening. She couldn't help but scoff and then smile. "it's just his way of saying sorry, leave it at that!" Valentina told him, hoping to ease the boy's attitude towards her. "not only is he coming over here for a minute but this daughter is staying the night with you so that you won't be alone, you'll have someone to talk to while we're out."

Noah's eyes widened. Alone with that little girl?!  What if she's more annoying than her papa? I'll probably crush her poor brains with my intellect. Noah thought. Noah stormed off into the living room and sat on the couch with his legs folded pretzel style and turned on the television, watching Rick and Morty, season 5 which he and mama thought was the best season yet.

He couldn't believe this was happening and Valentina couldn't believe she was going out all of a sudden with a stranger. This tall and handsome dark-haired stranger who had stolen her food, if she knew any better then she'd know he did it on purpose. Overhearing her conversation and slowly but truly seducing her into this night alone then hoping for something more if he played his cards right. Ansel decided that he was a lucky bastard enough just to get her to say yes to going out with him.

Valentina finished up in her room, filling her purse with everything necessary into her purse. By the time she was done Ansel rang the bell at the door, he waited patiently as Valentina told  Noah to get the door. But Noah didn't, he wanted to see the man and his daughter turn into popsicles outside. His mother rushed to the door with her heels clunking and she opened the door to see Ansel outside with a fox-like smile across his face. She could have sworn his teeth had shown a little bit but they didn't, something about his face shined with silver. She wanted to let her legs wobble but she didn't, she kept upright trying not to swoon so easily by such a fine man.

"Ms. Kowalski-Lopez, you look stunning tonight, an absolute vision!" Ansel marveled.

There was the little girl behind the Frenchman, by his leg hiding away and tugging onto the hem of his blazer. She couldn't hide as much as she wanted too, due to her wild red curls flounced in a scene behind the man. "I am not the only one who is stunning tonight, well hello, who might you be?" Valentina asked.

The little girl gasped and backed up away from her father. "my little Jean is a nervous thing tonight, what happened to being my brazen lady that you were earlier?" the Frenchman asked.
