Flash Forward...

Another Beginning

The summer before college...

Jin Seo and Go Eun spent the whole summer with the boys. They wanted to spend as much time, not only with their other halves, but with their closest friends as well before they became too busy with school again. They were going to the same school, just separate majors. Go Eun had been interested in medicine her whole life and was joining the pre-med program at Korea University come the start of the semester. She would be studying to become a trauma surgeon. 

Go Eun was worried about how much time her studies would take up and knew she wouldn't be able to spend the time with Ji Won that she wanted to. The entire summer she was practically glued to his side. Since Go Eun was leaving for college her parents allowed her a little more freedom than they did back in high school. That didn't mean they were entirely okay that she was dating a boy three years her senior, thus they lacked knowing that on the nights she claimed to be at Jin Seo's she was really staying at Ji Won's. She was sad that she wouldn't be able to spend her time sitting next to him as he live streamed or eat dinner together at the counter since his home lacked a dining table. She promised that on weekends she would visit and stay with him. Ji Won was just happy that Go Eun  was going on to fulfill her dreams. On the nights when she would lay in his arms, upset that it wouldn't be like this again for a long time, Ji Won would lean down and kiss her forehead.

"Everything's going to be fine, baby... You've got to go to school, you've got to follow your dreams! What happens when all this gaming causes my hands become arthritic? What if the screens make me go blind? I'm going to need my beautiful doctor to fix me up!" He would coo to her.

"You would need to see an orthopedic doctor or an optometrist! I'm going to be a trauma surgeon!" She would cry into his chest. Now despite what other's would think, Go Eun wasn't that type of girl. Most of their nights spent together consisted of her worrying about the future and Ji Won comforting her until she exhausted herself into a deep sleep. Otherwise, they fell asleep together on the couch, Go Eun with her head on Ji Won's lap and Ji Won with his head thrown back, popcorn spilled on his shirt, and drool running down his cheek, while the movie they had been watching played in the background. 

Jin Seo really didn't mind the separation from her best friend because they were going to be roommates in the dorm anyways and she was preoccupied with her own love life. Jin Seo was like a moth is to the light, she just couldn't leave it alone. She loved being around Han Bin as much as possible. When he worked she would bring him lunch or he would take her out on his break, when he got home from work she would be there waiting for him with the brightest smile on her face. Han Bin, of course, adored walking through his front door to see Jin Seo curled up on the couch already studying for her upcoming classes or sitting at the island in the kitchen reading through a cookbook to decide what to make for dinner.

Han Bin would walk into the house and if Jin Seo hadn't noticed he arrived he would sneak up behind her and pick her up, twirling her around and around until she smacked him on the shoulder to be put down. The sound of her squealing and laughing in delight made his day. There was worry about the future in this relationship as well, but it was on Han Bin's part. When he held his small girlfriend at night his heart rate would pick up at the thought of her no longer laying there and his arms would tense around her so she wouldn't be able to escape. He never voiced his worries to her because he knew how anxious she was about the separation as well. While Jin Seo was laying in his arms she could feel his arms grip her a little tighter in the middle of the night, so she made a point to snuggle a little closer or lean up and give him a soft peck on the cheek before falling back asleep. 

The end of the summer was approaching fast, and each couple wondered... did the end of the summer mean the end of their love?

The first day of college...

Go Eun and Jin Seo laughed as they watched their two boyfriends carry in their things. They had told them that they could help but both Ji Won and Han Bin had insisted that they would get everything. The only thing the boys allowed them to touch was their backpacks and purses. Each boy brought up a final suitcase before they collapsed onto their respective girlfriends bed. Ji Won tumbled onto Go Eun's bed, dragging her with him by her waist, and she landed in his arms. Han Bin sat next to Jin Seo and fell back onto the dorm mattress. Jin Seo laid back onto his chest and stared up at his face. His eyes were closed and his chest heaved up and down from the physical labor. Jin Seo giggled and poked at his cheeks, when he didn't open his eyes she kept poking, after a few jabs one of Han Bin's hands came up and pushed Jin Seo away by her face. 

"Hey!" Jin Seo groaned as she rolled away from him. "How could you! I've got makeup on!" Jin Seo dramatically sighed and covered her face. Han Bin laughed and grabbed her, pulling her back to his side gently.

"I'm sorry, let me fix it for you, come here." He moved her hands away from her face and landed a kiss attack all over her face, Jin Seo started to laugh and yell, trying to push him away from her, but Han Bin was much stronger and managed to pin her beneath him while he planted wet kisses across her face. From across the room you could here Ji Won and Go Eun laughing.

"Oh man, maybe you should have gotten a private room Jin Seo!" Ji Won yelled over, jokingly. He laughed and then stopped suddenly, a thought had occurred to him. He leaned in to Go Eun and quietly whispered, "Babe... Maybe you should have gotten a private room too." Go Eun smacked Ji Won on top of his head.

"Hey! That's what your house is for, dumbass!" She laughed as Ji Won wrapped her up in his arms even more.

The couples went on a double date that night to celebrate the girl's moving in. The boys treated them to sushi and when they finished dinner the boys took them back to their dorm.

Go Eun and Ji Won stood on the driver side of the car saying goodbye. She had her arms wrapped around his neck as she tried to hold back her tears.

"I promise I'll pass all my classes so I'm not here longer than I need to be." She said between sad hiccups. Ji Won smiled and pulled her even closer, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead, each of her cheeks, her nose, and finally planting his lips against hers for a hungry kiss that left them breathless.

"I'll see you this weekend." He winked and got into the car. 

Jin Seo and Han Bin stood on the passenger side of the car, her head resting against his chest while her arms had a death grip around his waist. He had his head resting on top of hers while his hands stroked up and down her back.

"Everything's going to be okay. It's not like your leaving the country. I'm just a phone call or a short drive away. Whenever you want to see me you just got to ask and I'll be there, alright? Come on, it's getting late. You've got classes in the morning." Han Bin pulled back from Jin Seo, looking down at her sad face. He smiled, cupped her face in his hands and drew their lips together. It was a gentle goodbye kiss, one that lingered until the next kiss would take place. The two broke apart and Han Bin climbed back into the car. The two girls watched them drive away before entering their dorms. 

They didn't sleep that night as they wondered what the future held for them.
