One Month Later...

The two girls were quickly seeing an end to their summer of heartbreak as school was soon approaching. They were excited to be going back so they would be able to busy themselves with their studies alongside their work. Unfortunately, while Jin Seo and Go Eun were busy with the internships they had earned, it didn't keep them busy enough to be able to avoid the painful thoughts that often roused up.

Often times, when Go Eun would run off to help one of her seniors sometimes she would run by the room of a young patient who was upset he was stuck in the hospital and couldn't play video games with his friends, her heart would clench at the mention of certain titles. Jin Seo quit eating her favorite ramen, it reminded her of all the times she had made it for him and they had laughed as they ate together, and now it reminded her of how she was a disappointment. Go Eun could be caught angrily muttering about dining tables when furniture commercials came on. Jin Seo often had a sad smile on her face at work, she worked with a young girl who was often brought in by her teenage brother every week, watching him happily cheer her on through her speech therapy was reminiscent of another brother and sister duo that she had loved so much.

It wasn't all for the worse though, in the time that the girls had become single they had grown as individuals. Jin Seo got her stool, which aided her when it came to putting dishes away. She committed herself to sitting down and figuring out a couple new recipes that weren't cooked in the microwave. Go Eun threw out the giant plushie that had taken up so much of her bed over the past few years. Jin Seo had come home from work one day, walking by the dumpster that was by their apartment complex and spied the beady, black eyes, that seemed as though they were following you, peeking over the lip of the dumpster. When she got upstairs to the apartment her jaw almost hit the floor. Go Eun sat at the dining table, a book in her hands, the hair that once swung down close to her waist was now ending just barely past her chin.

"Holy Shit." Was the only response that Jin Seo could come up with, but afterwards her and Go Eun ended up laughing together as they bonded over the changes that had come over them. Together, the two girls decided that it wasn't so bad so long as they had each other to lean on, they were stuck like glue to each other from that promise onwards.

Now with school in the near future and the excitement of their impending junior year, Jin Seo and Go Eun planned a final night out to close the chapter on this summer.

Jin Seo was reclined on the couch as Go Eun flicked through the channels on the TV from the adjacent couch. It had been a lazy day for them, neither had risen from the dead until early afternoon and they continued to reside within their pajamas. Jin Seo sighed as Go Eun continued to channel surf.

"Fuck, we have to go out. We can't end the summer sitting in our pajamas surrounded by empty snack wrappers!" Jin Seo jumped up from the couch, an empty chip bag falling from her lap as if to enhance her point. "Get up! Get ready! Call the boys! Let's go clubbing!" Jin Seo was hopping around the room at this point, both in an endeavor to excite Go Eun, as well as herself. "Maybe let's not get super plastered but let's just have fun!" Jin Seo bounded out of the living room into her bedroom, the door closing quickly behind her and Go Eun heard the shower start up. Go Eun sighed and rolled herself off of the couch onto all fours, she crawled to her bedroom and into her own bathroom. As much as she wished she could stay on the couch until she became a part of it, Jin Seo was right, it was time to go clubbing.

Go Eun emerged from her bedroom a couple hours later, Jin Seo was sitting on the couch ready and waiting on her friend, the sun beginning to set outside of the window. Go Eun had lightly waved her short hair, her face was contoured and highlighted in all the right places, and her lips had a red tint on them that matched well with her eye makeup. Her tall, slender body was clad in an almost skin tight black dress that hit her at mid-thigh and was printed with beautiful lilies all over it. She stood a few inches taller than normal with the strappy, black heels she had on, as well. Jin Seo stood from the couch, her heels allowing the height difference between the two to not increase. Jin Seo strayed from her usual pant and shirt get up, as well, as the all black look she was known for. She now stood in a skin tight red lace dress that ended mid-thigh, a dip in the back and a peek-a-boo over her midriff revealed her pale skin. Her longer hair was styled in a elegant, high ponytail and her small hands tugged lightly at the high collar of the dress.
