Back at the Apartment...
Chan Woo hurriedly opened the apartment door and dragged Jin Seo in behind him, shortly followed by Jun Hoe with a still distressed Go Eun in his arms. Jun Hoe laid Go Eun down on the couch, she sat up quickly, her arms crossed and an angry expression on her face. Chan Woo, Jun Hoe, and Jin Seo stood in front of her waiting for her to say something. Jin Seo ended up breaking the silence.
"Chan Woo... You can let go of my hand now." She whispered. Chan Woo's eyes widened and he quickly dropped her hand out of his and stared off awkwardly. "I'm going to go make some food for her..." Jin Seo muttered as she left for the kitchen. Go Eun continued to sit with a scowl on the couch. Deciding that there was nothing they could do the two boys say down at the dining table. Go Eun shot up from the couch.
"SEE! If you have a fucking dining table people will use the damn table! How was that so fucking hard for him to see! Is he actually blind!" Go Eun stood in front of the two startled boys and gestured wildly at the table. "Dining tables are so useful! You get to sit with your company and enjoy a meal! You get to actually sit while you eat! You don't stand at your kitchen counter like some fucking heathen while you eat! There's more room for dishes! WHAT'S THE POINT OF DINING TABLES TO EXIST IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO DINE AT IT, GOD, WHAT A FUCKING BASTARD!" Go Eun proceeded to seat herself on the floor, her back resting against a leg of the table. "I really fucking hate him." She whispered, her eyes beginning to water again. Jun Hoe sighed and looked down at her.
He reached down and began running his hands through her hair. Go Eun's eyes closed and a small smile graced her mouth. Jun Hoe smiled looking at her, she was so beautiful. He couldn't believe that Ji Won so easily let her go, if she had been his... He wouldn't have left her side for his best friend, his mother... No one. If only she had been mine... We wouldn't be here like this right now, he thought sadly. Jun Hoe continued to pet her head when they all heard crying from the kitchen.
Chan Woo practically leapt out of his chair and rushed in to find Jin Seo sitting on the floor with her head in her hands, tears were streaming down her cheeks. Chan Woo knelt down next to her, putting his arms around her. "What's wrong? What happened? Are you hurt?" He asked, his voice filled with panic.
"I can't reach the bowls... I'm too short." She said quietly. "This is so frustrating! I just need a tall boyfriend who can reach stuff on the top shelf!" She cried. Chan Woo looked up in disbelief, clenching his jaw.
"NO! NO, YOU DON'T!" Go Eun's harsh yell came from the dining table. "You don't need a dumb, tall boyfriend who's just going to make you fall in love with him and make you sooooooooOOOoooOOOooo happy for a few years and then fucking rip your heart out because you're supposedly "childish" or because he can find another girlfriend soooooOOOOO easily.... NOPE! I'll get you a fucking stool." Go Eun sat up, crawling towards the kitchen on her hands and knees. She rounded the corner and sat next to Jin Seo and Chan Woo. "I'll get you a stool. Stools don't pull that kind of bullshit. Stools won't make you fall in love, they won't emotionally wreck you... physically, maybe, but that's your fault if you go falling off the stool... I'll make sure it's not too tall, that way you don't get seriously hurt if you do fall... It'll be the perfect height. A Jin Seo stool." Go Eun patted the top of Jin Seo's head before sighing and sliding down to lay on the floor.
Jun Hoe had followed Go Eun into the kitchen, he stood leaning against the wall as him and Chan Woo just stared at each other in frustrated disbelief.
"I'll grab the bowls." Chan Woo said, beginning to stand up.
"NO!" Jin Seo shouted, scrambling off the floor. "I've got to do this on my own... I don't need a dumb, tall boyfriend... I'm a self-sufficient woman who is getting a stool!" Jin Seo walked over to the dining table and lifted a chair over to the cabinet where the bowls were. She climbed up and grabbed four bowls out, setting them on the counter, before she began to climb down. Jin Seo still being a little drunk, of course, slipped. Chan Woo, luckily, was standing right next to the chair and caught her in his arms. Jin Seo had her arms wrapped around his neck while he cradled her to his chest. He looked at her with an "I told you so" look.
"You should have just let me grab the bowls. Be a self-sufficient woman with a stool only when you have to, okay?" He said, gently setting her down. Jin Seo still had her arms around his neck, their faces hardly two inches apart. She nodded as they stared into each others eyes.
"Alright, I'm hungry... Is the food ready?" Go Eun groaned from the floor, slowly propping herself up on her elbows. Jin Seo pulled away from Chan Woo, and straightened out her clothes, taking a second to clear her mind, before answering.
"Yeah, let me put it in the bowls and then help me bring it to the table..." She said quietly. As Jun Hoe and Chan Woo walked back to the dining table Jin Seo let out the shaky breathe she hadn't realized she had been holding in. The rest of the night felt awkward for Jin Seo. What a weird moment earlier... She thought. The tension she felt was only relieved after the boys had left.
"Ugh, what a fucked night... Goodnight." Go Eun said before crashing her bedroom door shut, leaving Jin Seo in the living room to ruminate about the night's events.
