"She cried over you," I snarled, anger unfurling in my chest, "she cried over you for days." I almost began to enjoy the pain in his eyes as he glared back.

"I know." I stood, baffled and furious.

"Then why didn't you reach out to her? Why didn't you give her the closure that she needs?" A single tear slid down from his warm, butterscotch eyes, followed by another one, and another one, until soon, a steady stream of salty tears flowed it's way down his pale cheek, releasing the sadness and sorrow that has been held inside of him for all this time but still he did not make a sound.

"Because I'm hurting too!" he yelled back, "Because I'm afraid if I see her crying in front of me, I'll apologise and beg for her back! But I can't do that!" His voice sounded pained and it was a pain so raw I had no idea what to do with it. He dropped his gaze as his voice caught. "I can't hurt her more than I already have."
