"Jackie, tell me a story!" June was a typical seven year old, a toothy gap smile and eyes full of wonder. Jackie smiled, wistfully looking out the window to the view just beyond the glass panes that kept them inside.

"Okay," she replied, propping June up on her knee, "listen carefully." June nodded, her eyes fluttering as the moon poured it's shining beams through the transparent glass of the windows. "If you find bones in the forest, sit a bit and listen. They're old and have some good stories to tell. Maybe they'll teach you a spell or two or explain where the water on our planet came from. If you find bones by the ocean, run. Don't look back. Run, faster and faster. The sea may love you but there are nights where she knows no mercy nor science and the bones will only warn you once." Jackie looked down to where June lay in her lap, soundless and sleeping. Jackie smiled, looking out the crashing waves and a sympathetic moon, smiling as a tear dripped down her face.

    I miss you.
