"I think we need to break up." Her head snapped up, tears beginning to spill. Suddenly, she let out a laugh. Her laugh that had once made him feel like everything was beautiful yet now sent a shiver down his spine.
Slowly, their eyes met and he flinched from what he saw in them; there was so much disgust and betrayal it chilled him to the core. She choked back a sob and it was then he wanted to run to her and hold her in his arms while protecting her from the monster he had just unleashed.
She coughed once, trying to breathe through the ocean she created. Her mouth twisted into an unnatural smile, eyes shining too brightly. "It's weird," she smiled lopsidedly, "I feel nothing."
