Ehwaz's POV

I woke up in my team's apartment and checked my scroll. 8:35. My team had almost an hour and half before we needed to report to Professor Ozpin's office for enrollment for the Vital Festival.

I lay in my bed staring at the whitewash ceiling, recalling the events from last night. The White Fang, the cat Faunus, the ginger girl that destroyed that ship, it was an eventful night. But one thing stuck out in my memory, the girl with the Silver Eyes. She knew the cat Faunus girl, she called her Blake. Those eyes.... there was something about those Silver Eyes.

I got up and put on my clothing and my hooded trench coat. I grabbed my ammo belt and put it on. I grabbed my Star Breakers and held them in my hands. Dual short swords that changed into revolvers, it took a month to get them to work properly. I placed them in my holsters and left my room.

In the kitchen, the usual scene greeted me, Kauna and Lena were busy cooking something for breakfast and Oris was was siting at the table reading. I made my way to the fridge and poured myself a glass of milk and pulled out some left over homemade cookies from the other night and sat down at the table. As I sat down, with her eyes never leaving her book, Oris said, "That's not the ideal breakfast you know."
I looked at her and replied, "Yes, but I consider it a treat for last night'a victory"
"Victory? What victory?"
"Kicking those criminals butts last night. That victory."
Oris put down her book to look me in the eyes. "Doesn't it bother you? Fighting your own kind?"
I laughed humorlessly, "My kind? My kind? I left because I was a freak. An inbreed. I left because no one wanted me. My kind rejected me."

A silence passed between us as we stared at each other. The only sound was Kuana and Lena who, apparently oblivious to the conversation, argued, "The heat is to high, you're going to burn it."
"I can't burn it, my semblance is fire remember? I got it undercontr-!"
The sounds of something catching fire caught my ear.
"I told you."
The sound of water suddenly sizzling on a pan then followed.

I broke the tension and said, "I'm sorry Oris, I just don't like many Faunus, least of all the White Fang."
"It's alright," she replied, "I only asked it because you seem distracted this morning. You look like you have something on your mind."
"I do."
"Is it that girl?"
"Huh?"
"The cat Faunus, the one who stood up to those White Fang soldiers."
"Oh, her, yeah. No. Well, she is, but it's something else."
"Something else?"
"Well, someone else."
"Who is?"
"I don't know her name, she arrived at the fight last night. She had Silver Eyes."

Oris stared at me. And the tension was suddenly back. It lasted enough time to hear a groan of frustration from the stove.
"Silver Eyes?" she repeated to me.
"Yes" I replied.

Oris looked like she was about to say something when she was cut off by a plate of what I think was "food" being placed in front of us. I looked up to see Lena smiling before saying, "Bon appetite!" in a loud goofy accent. Then in a whisper just loud enough for Kuana to hear, "Just scrape the burnt parts off and it will taste fine."

She turned to get her own plate and my eyes followed her butt. I couldn't help it. Why did she wear tight clothing like that? Did she want guys to look at her butt?
My thoughts were broken by a sharp pain in the side of my head. Looked down and found a spare copy of the book Oris was reading on my lap. I looked at her accusingly and she mouthed the word "pervert" before beginning to eat.

I rubbed my head and followed her lead. I bit into what I think were the eggs. They tasted good, if a bit crunchy. Lena and Kuana came to the table with their own plates.

"So," Lena began, "Let's go through what we are doing today."

Lena, being the leader of our team, felt obligated to go through a "what we will do today" list.

"We have about an hour before we need to meet with Professor Ozpin," Lena said, "Anyone have anything to do or talk about before we need to go?"

Everyone but Oris shook their heads.

"I do have something," said Oris.
My ears perked up and I looked over to Oris. She shot me a small grin before continuing. "I think Ehwaz likes your butt."

I inhaled my partly chewed eggs and began to gag. Kuana looked at me with a mix of of disbelief and anger, Lena looked at me in shock, her face bright red with blush, and Oris with and impish grin on her face.
I managed to finally dislodge the egg and took several breaths before I looked at Lena to explain, and began having a coughing fit. But Oris didn't stop there, she started saying, "I'm surprised you haven't noticed, I just decided to say nothing till now. It's been happening for a while now. In fact, just the other day-!"
I grabbed the nearest object, Oris's book and chucked it at her. It landed square in her mouth cutting her off completely.

Lena, still blushing like a tomato looked at me and asked, "Ehwaz, is that true?"

Now, I'm gonna stop right here for a moment and make it clear that everything Oris said was not true! Ok, partly true. Yes, I looked at her butt, but I absolutely had no attraction to our leader. And I was about to say this right here, but my tail caught fire.
Ok. Back to real time.

I opened my mouth to speak but smelled smoke. Instinctively, I looked at my tail. The tip was on fire. I immediately ran away from the sounds of Kuana's laughter and into the bathroom. I turned on the sink and stuck my tail in.

After making sure my tail was properly extinguished, I returned to the kitchen a little while later with a slightly smoking tail. Breakfast had been cleaned up and everyone was making last minute preparations before leaving. I turned into the living room and plopped down on the couch and waited until everyone was ready.

When everyone had gotten everything they needed, we all started out the door. I was the first out to avoid any eye contact with my teammates, especially Lena. We made our way to the train station and caught the first train to Beacon. That, was when the true adventure began.
