A L E X U S
•••I sit in my art class alone be trying to do my work quietly. I finish the painting of my mother and start a new one.
As I'm thinking about what colour I should add next i feel someone's presence on the seat next to me.
"Hey." Daniel smiles.
"Hey. It feels like we haven't spoken in forever." I sigh.
"I know. You've been busy. I've been busy. We're all busy." He laughs.
"What's the next thing your going to paint?" I ask.
"Hmm I'm not sure. Something that makes me happy." He grins.
We sit in a solemn silence for a while before Daniel clears the air.
"Do you wanna come over for dinner?" Daniel asks quietly.
"What?" I question.
"Do you *ahem* want to come over for dinner." He asks louder.
"Sure." I grin.
"Pick you up at 6?" He questions.
"Sounds great." I smile.
The bell rings telling us that it's lunch time so I get up and say goodbye to Daniel.
"Oh, Lexi?" Daniel calls after me.
"Yeah Dani." I say, facing him.
"There's red paint on your shorts." He laughs.
I look down at my shorts and sure enough there is streak of bright red acrylic paint.
"Dang it." I whisper to my self.
I give Daniel a slight shrug and head to the cafeteria. Once I get there Abigail is waiting for me a big smile on her face.
"Guess who I had Math with?" She says in a sing-song voice as I sat down.
"The grinch?" I ask sarcastically.
"No it wa-"
"The tooth fairy?" I ask.
"No it was-"
"Albert Einstein?" I ask once again.
"He's dead-"
"Mary Poppins?" I question.
"God damnit Alexus! It was Zach!" She shouts making me jump.
"Jeez! No need to be so loud." I laugh.
"Sorry." She says quietly a small blush forming on her cheek.
"So? What happened?" I ask, intrigued.
"He-" She starts before getting interrupted by a loud clatter on the other side of the cafeteria.
We look over and see Sydnie running out the hall and Jack & Zachary sizing up to some jocks.
A whole crowd forms and Abi and I rush over there to see what was happening.
