Moans

Moans.

"Oh shut up!" Beam yelled as he wiped his machete and his sword off blood. Done, he put his sword and machete back to the case attached to his waist. Damn he is sticky all over. He wished for a shower badly but that has to wait until he gets back to the base camp. He is careful to not step on whatever he just hacked to bloody bits.

Moans.

"Alright alright, I am done here, let go home," Beam said impatiently as he stood up. At the end of another rope tied around Beam's waist is a creature. The creature's eyes are unfocused. From his toothless mouth, a foul smell emitted as it moaned once in a while, urging Beam along.

Beam started walked while that creature, with the same rope tied around its waist, does its best to tag along, not out of affection, but out of hunger. Beam's guard is always all up around this part of the jungle since there are still lots of them around. Still roaming, aimlessly.

Moans.

Those are the sounds the creatures make. When Beam first heard the moans, he knew he would have nightmares for a very long time. Not because the sound was creepy but because those moans came from the one living creature he love, or once loved. The person who sacrificed himself and bought time for Beam to get reinforcements.

Moans.

Beam stopped his tracks. He heard ruffles from the bushes. The creature edged on slowly and eventually bumped into Beam and went straight for Beam's neck but Beam easily knocked the face away.

"Try again when you are alive, don't have bad breath, BO and with real teeth and flesh," Beam whispered. His eyes scanned around.

Moans.

Shit, Beam heard louder ruffles from various directions and growing decibel of moans. Beam quickened his pace, tugging the creature to walk faster. The base camp is just around he corner. All he needed to do is to cross the bridge and draw up the bridge then whatever that follow will fall into the deep moat.

Moans.

"Alright! I am going as fast as I can, stop rushing me. You know if I make any more sounds it will attract more of them. Now come on, just a little more, we are almost there," Beam said, tugging the rope to make the creature to walk faster. Beam glanced behind, they showed up, in hoards. Their pace slow, but steady and forward.

Moans.

That's right, Beam thought. They are going to cross the damn bridge and all he needed to do is draw the fucking bridge up and voila.

"Come on you asshole! You're slower than Yo!" Beam tugged, pulling the creature like a rodeo rider pulling a stubborn bull. Finally the creature finished it walk across the bridge, Beam pushed him hard aside. It tumbled away, fell and moaned, struggling to wake up. A good pace away before the bridge, a hoard of them appeared under the sunset light. Beam quickly pulled the mechanism to draw the bridge up. One by one, those dumb dumbs fall into the deep hole that formed a moat. Snap, snap, snap. Ewww, Beam hated the sound of bones breaking.

Moans.

"Got it, stop looking you say, I get it," Beam said after peering into the pit one last time. Yup, it's getting quite full recently. Good for Pha and Kit. More specimens.

Beam tugged his rope again, when the camp gate guard guarding the tower saw him and opened the passage way for him. Gosh, he reeks. He needed a shower badly.

"Come along," Beam tugged as he began passing the passage way slowly, the creature tagging along in its own pace.

Moans.
