finn's nerves were all over the place. sadie had told him that he and millie needed to talk, finn laughed out loud at sadie's sillie statement, hoping that she was thinking out loud. but deep down, he knew sadie better than that.
so, there he was, at the cafe with the red-head, sipping on his latte as he anxiously waited for millie to arrive. sadie told millie that she had talked to finn and everything was all good.
what a lie.
everytime someone would walk into the cafe, finn's head would shoot up towards the door to see if it would finally be millie. "jesus, finn." the blue eyed girl commented, making finn shoot his eyes up at her icy ones. "what, sink? you're expecting me to talk to millie after only seeing her out in public and awkwardly making eye contact for the what? past two months?? she hates me and you know it!" he said, releasing a breath he didn't know he was holding in.
sadie clicked her tongue, "wolfhard," she thought for a second, "how do i say this without sounding like a total bitch.... stop being a pu- a coward and man up! you're going to have to talk to her eventually, why not just get it over with now??" finn glared at the fiery-haired girl, knowing she was right. of course he would have to talk to her at some point, he just didn't think it would be so soon.
the little bell that was attached to the door rang, and somehow finn knew it was millie. he looked up, seeing the beautiful girl. she was wearing a yellow pink floyd crop top, some gray sweat pants, and a pair of black beat up converse high tops. from afar, the curly haired boy could tell she was wearing a small amount of makeup; some eyeliner, mascara, and lipgloss.
all the air was nearly knocked out of his chest as she came their way, making it hard for him to breathe. "dude, calm down. it's going to be alright, i swear!" sadie said with a reassuring smile that made finn feel a little bit better. millie made her way over to the table, not yet noticing finn because he had his head buried in his arms, which were laying on the table.
"hey sades, how are you-" millie said, stopping herself mid-sentence due to the fact that she saw the boy that had been consuming her thought for the past week.
she slowly sat down, not knowing if she should stay or go. the brunette cleared her throat, "u-um, sadie, care to explain what's g-going on here?" millie stuttered, refusing to look at finn.
the red-head scoffed, "really mills? not even a hello to the poor boy?" millie glared at her before mumbling a hello to finn, who took it by surprise. "h-hi finn." her voice came out shakily, making it sound like she would either scream at him or cry at any given moment.
finn's stomach churned, his anxiety starting to get worse. but nonetheless, he said hello- to be polite of course. "h-hi mills- uh millie." he stuttered as well, making millie's eyes water the tiniest bit at the nickname that she had grown so fond of hearing him say.
