iris and lilia were very nervous to face their friends at lunch, not knowing what to expect. nonetheless, they still kept the act up.
they still held hands while walking to their classes, they had to make it believable.
or jack would have their heads.
neither of the girls knew why he wanted them to pose as a couple or what he wanted with millie. he never let them in the loop like that.
as of now, iris and lilia were in fourth period. lilia had science and iris apparently had PE with millie, finn, and noah.
as the minutes went by, the clocks ticks seemed to go slower and slower, making lilia's nerves grow. she was worried what her new friends would think. it seemed like they had a rough past with her from what sadie told her.
the final minute of class passed and the loud bell finally rang.
students ran out of class practically, no one knew why they ran and honestly it was really stupid. lilia on the other hand was slowly walking to the cafeteria, she didn't want to have to face whatever her friends were about to say.
as lilia walked into the lunch room, she saw millie, finn, noah, and iris walking toward the table. with smiles on their faces?
lilia wondered if they'd worked things out. they seemed happy.
a couple seconds later and lilia was at their lunch table, taking a seat next to iris who was having a conversation with millie about some show.
a few minutes later and everyone was at the lunch table. caleb cleated his throat, "are we not gonna address it?" he asked, everyone looked at him with confused faces. "address.... what?" millie asked, tilting her head a little.
"the elephant in the room..." he stated obviously, with a duh look. "about the iris and lilia thing!?" he whisper shouted quickly. millie lifted her head from finn's shoulder. gaten choked on his pudding and noah spit out his drink.
they were all being over dramatic of course, but it fit. lilia sighed. "iris isn't a band person caleb." she said firmly. iris set her hand on top of lilia's, mouthing a thank you.
"look, i know i have a rough past with a lot of you. and for that i apologize. a few months ago i was in a bad place and couldn't pull myself out of it. to make myself feel better, i did horrible things to really great people and i do regret it. i'm just hoping we can put all of the bad things i've done behind us, leave it in the past and be friends?" iris explained.
