"i wonder how they're doing." rowan mumbled, not taking her eyes off the tv, everyone agreeing discreetly. it had been about an hour since sadie had returned, and the friends were so deep into the show they were watching, no one even got up to use the bathroom.
finn and millie were the least of their worries.
for now.

finn sighed, it was time to tell her how it all began.
"like i was saying, maddie ziegler was following me around the whole night, being the annoying clingy..... bitch she is. she wouldn't leave me alone, i swear i wanted to rip my head off. she kept saying something, but i couldn't understand what she was saying. after an hour or so, sadie called everyone around to play a game. then it was you who suggested to play spin the bottle." he smiled, "right before i walked over, maddie pinned me against a wall and got way too close to me. she whispered to me that she dared me to get someone to fall in love with me. she didn't tell me who until after i kissed you. but i swear to god, millie, if she hadn't of said that, i still would've kissed you that night before you left."
"i don't regret any of it. not the first kiss we shared, not when i kissed you before you were about to leave, none of it." he spoke truthfully.
millie couldn't help but smile.
but that doesn't change anything.
"i-i just want to know why, finn. why did you do it? did she tell you she would give you a certain amount of money, hook you up with someone?? i don't understand." millie said, her smile fading away. finn but his hand on millie's, surprising her. "you see, for the first week let's say, she kept threatening me. i don't know why, she never told me. b-but after that week, it was almost like she fell off the face of the earth, and i didn't hear from her until that day she rudely interrupted us and dropped that huge bomb."
finn frowned, "if i'm being completely honest," he said now looking millie in the eyes, "i completely forgot about the dare. after maddie left, it didn't cross my mind once. the only thing i was focused on was you. your happiness."
"t-thank you." she said. "thank you for being honest with me, it really means a lot." finn smiled at her words, "w-well i have to go soon, but... t-this... it was nice." millie said, mumbling the last part to herself.
finn stood up, "i'll walk you out."
the brunette stood up as well, following finn towards the door as she her cheeks grew a light shade of red once again. she hoped finn didn't notice, she didn't want him getting any ideas.
they were not friends again, and they wouldn't be anytime soon.
or so she thought.

"sadieeee! when are they going to come back??" gaten groaned, sprawling himself across the couch.
"i dont know!! i cant see into the future! be patient, it's not that hard." she teases, gaten rolling his eyes at her answer.
everyone had moved to the floor for some odd reason and he took it as a chance to take over the couch and make it his own.
"who cares gaten?? i just need season two of that show we were watching or i'll die." grace said being overly dramatic.
"the show wasn't amazing, it was decent. let's watch something else." caleb said which made sadie scoff. "don't shit talk about she-ra! i'll come for your ass!" the red head yelled playfully.
caleb just chuckled, "let's watch like voltron or something." rowan suggested, not taking her eyes off of her phone. gaten's ears perked up at the familiar name of the show, a smile growing on his face.
"yes!!! i love that show!" he said as he grabbed the remote and searched for the show.
"whatever guys, i'm going to make some popcorn." noah said lazily before getting up from bis uncomfortable looking position on the ground and walking into the kitchen.
"anyone want anything while i'm up?" noah yelled, "yeah! iced coffee please!"
"sprite, please!!"
"coke, thanks."
"a big ass bottle of water im so thirsty."
the last one was sadie of course. noah rolled his eyes, grabbing everyone their drinks and coming back to the couch and sitting down, forgetting about the popcorn.
sadie's phone dinged, "it's from millie!" she exclaimed, everyone's face turned to worry.
"it says, thank you sadie, you're awesome and i love you." everyone exchanged confused glances, not sure of what to think about the text. "do you think they're all good now?" noah asked. sadie shrugged, "i hope."

walking millie out the door turned into walking millie home, but neither of them minded.
the walk was quiet, neither of them wanting to say something wrong, just like before. so they just walked, only the sound of little kids playing and the ice cream truck jingle in the background.
once they got to millie's doorstep, finn sighed. "m-millie wait." he said, grabbing onto her wrist.
she froze, unsure of what to do. "y-yes finn?" she stuttered. god, millie why do you always have to stutter?!
"thank you. f-for listening to what i had to say... a-and giving me a chance to explain myself."
millie turned around, "you're welcome." finn smiled, it looked like he wanted to do something but he was contemplating whether or not he should really do it.
screw it, he thought. "can i just-" finn started, but he cut himself off by pulling millie into him and smashing his chapped lips against her warm ones.
millie let out a gasp of surprise, that familiar taste of cigares and vanilla, and a little bit of strawberry filling her lips.
before she could react, finn pulled back, smiling that stupid smile. "have a nice night."
and he walked off, leaving a confused millie on her doorstep with plump lips and wobbly legs.
what had she gotten herself into.
