jack's time away was.... "corrupting" his plan. if it weren't for being called in to deal with new recruits, he could've been completed with all of his steps by now.

but alas, that was not the case.

as of now he was sitting in his big, quiet, lonely office. he was filling out the paperwork for the new recruits, assigning them names and where they would be training.

it had been a while since they got knew recruits, excited was an understatement.

but jack was anything but excited now. while he was gone, someone stepped in for him. a girl named molly, she'd been working for jack since he took over the business a few years back.

she was a short red head with shoulder length hair and too many freckles to count. she had the brightest and kindest blue eyes that could light up a room. her personality was so fun and full of joy.

she tried to help jack be better than he was, to help him be kinder. but it didn't work and he lashed out on her one day.

he left a scar on her left eye, from throwing a glass case at the wall but missing and hitting her instead.

molly wasn't angry with him, she never got angry. when she did, you knew you were in big trouble.

over the years jack just got worse. molly truly did try to help him, but nothing she said or did helped.

so now, there she was, stepping in for jack when he was out completing the tasks for his plan. the same plan molly warned him was a bad idea. the same plan where he told her to piss off.

and the same plan that will affect a lot of innocent people.

millie knew something was up with finn. she could feel it. he just wasn't telling her and it was getting on her last nerve.

when he got back from the café the other day, it looked like he'd just seen a ghost. millie and the others tried to ask him what was wrong, but all he said was he saw roadkill.

millie knew he was lying. he just wouldn't say what actually bothered him, and that bothered millie.

did he not trust her enough? was he second guessing her? was what he saw really that terrible? the next couple of days he was quieter than usual. which was unusual, clearly. he seemed more on edge.

a permanent scowl was on his face, only lighting up once in a while when he was around his friends. millie hoped he would get out of whatever funk he was in, halloween was right around the corner.
