millie woke up from a restless night of sleep, her hair messy and all over the place even though it was short. she looked at her phone, reading the time; 11am. she checked to see if there were any notifications. there were only a few texts from the group chat she was in with her friends. she didn't bother checking it, not yet at least.
she got out of her bed, throwing the sheets all over the place. her bare feet hit the soft carpet as she let out a soft sigh and walked to the bathroom to brush her teeth. she brushed what she could of her hair, smiling at herself in the mirror, walking out and down the stairs to the kitchen.
she stood on her tip toes, grabbing some granola from the cabinet and walking over to the fridge to get some fruit and yogurt. she grabbed a bowl, scooping some yogurt in and sprinkling the granola and fruit on the top. she got a spoon and walked over to the table, placing her bowl there before walking up to her room and grabbing her phone.
she dialed grace's phone number, putting a spoonful of her home-made 'acai' bowl into her mouth and waiting for the blue haired girl to pick up.
after a few rings, she heard the groggy voice of grace, who had seemed to just gotten out of bed. "morning?" millie said, spooning another scoop of yogurt into her mouth. "maybe. i haven't spoken yet today, that's why my voice sounds like this."
millie chuckled, "what's up girly pop?" grace asked. millie signed, "nothing really. i just woke up as well. wanted to call & see if you could come hang out today?" millie asked. she heard grace sigh, "i can't sorry. my mum set up an appointment to they eye doctor today, told me she wanted my eyes 'fixed' before school started up again."
"that sucks. no worries though! have fun." millie said, hanging up after she and grace said goodbye.
before it was noon, millie had called up all of her friends to see if they could hang out sometime today, but alas they were all busy. she sighed once more. then her head shot up, remembering the one person she hadn't called yet.
finn. sure, it'd be a little awkward at first, but they'd fall back into place with each other eventually. even if she still loved him more than she wanted to admit. scratch that, she'd never admit.
not to his face at least.
not soon.
so she decided to pick up the phone and call the curly haired boy that had been on her mind recently. before finn picked up, she took a deep breath. it's just finn, what are you worrying about??
"hello?" she heard his soft voice say, did she wake him?? "hi, finn. i was just wondering if you wanted to hang ont today? i've called everyone else and they're busy." millie said with a laugh, finn's voice seemed to perk up, "sure mills. what time?" he asked, making millie's belly fill with butterflies at the old nickname.
"whatever time. you can come over if you want." millie suggested, and she heard finn inhale. "ok, i'll see you in an hour." millie said nonchalantly, saying bye and hanging up the phone.

iris let out a big and loud sigh. maddie had gotten her in trouble again. she wasn't supposed to go out and see millie and her friends, letting them know she was still in town.
"stupid maddie." she scoffed, sitting up right and calling "lights on." she picked up her phone, checking the time. 12:45 already!?
"have i really been brooding for that long.." she asked herself, standing up and walking out of her quarters. she shook her head, looking down the hallway and seeing maddie's blond curls standing outside of jack kelly's quarters, obviously speaking to him. she rolled her eyes and walked the other direction and out of the building.
"and where are you going??" lilia called, she was jack's assistant, but also a close friend of iris'. "out, i'll be back later." she said without looking at the blonde, getting in her car and driving away.
she gagged, thinking of what maddie and jack could be doing. they'd broken up months ago but couldn't keep hands off of each other. iris shook the thoughts out of her head, turning the radio on top volume, drowning her thoughts in the music.
"where to..." she said to herself once more, then a thought struck her head. "perfect."

about an hour later, finn and millie had fallen back i to their old ways; very playful with each other, always teasing, giggling, sarcastic, etc.
but they of course were less couply. how could they be anyways? they weren't a couple anymore. they were merely just friends who had loved each other so deeply in the past.
who says you can't be friends with your ex?
"finn. finn stop!!" millie said letting out a very loud laugh. they were having a tickle fight, something that had always happened when they were together. and it was always at the randomest of times, if they were just sitting in comfortable silence or if they were watching a movie, doing homework, or reading.
finn always found a way to tickle millie and get that big loud laugh out of her. he couldn't help but smile himself, seeing millie happy made him happy. especially after what he did. he wouldn't ever forgive himself for it, even if millie forgave him.
the freckle faced boy stopped tickling her, watching her chest heave up and down because she had been laughing so hard. then she looked up at finn who was leaning above her, hands placed beside her hips.
his curls were all in his face, his cheeks rosy, and his smile present. the she switched roles.
now millie was on top of him, tickling him like he was just doing seconds ago. finn started to laugh, very loudly may i add. millie felt those damn butterflies in her stomach again.
not the time.
she and finn tickled each other back and forth for a while until they were out of breath and couldn't breathe. they sat on millie's couch, breathing heavily with rosy cheeks and big smiles.
"that was fun." finn said, looking to millie and slouching his shoulders down to get more comfortable. millie looked to him, nodding.
"let's call some of the others. they can't be busy all day." finn suggested, millie got up and went to the kitchen to get her phone.
"i'll call sadie, caleb, and grace. you call rowan, gaten, and noah." finn nodded, walking over to millie and grabbing his phone as well.
little did they know, that their friends had set this up for them & they weren't really busy.
