Chapter 13: There's No Rest For A Demigod (like always)

"Tara, I have decided that you are going insane." Jason concluded. I had been playing Go Fish with Percy, Jason, Piper, in the infirmary. Leo was supposed to be here, but whatever.

"No, it's just a rule, right guys?" I ask, looking around the circle for any sign that I was right.

They both just stared at their cards.

"Fine, I see how it is, I'll get you back." I smiled evilly.

"Yea, right." Percy rolled his eyes.

"Oh, yeah? Hey Percy, got any dolphins?" I said smugly as he handed over the last two I needed.

"I have decided not to mess with her anymore." Piper said, which was smart on her behalf.

"Tara, got any...Pufferfish?" Jason raised a brow.

I laughed out loud, "Nope! Go fish, you loser!"

He frowned but did so. "By the way, someone needs to take away those two shark cards Percy has, it's bluntly obvious he only needs one more to make a set." I pointed out.

Piper stroked her chin like a mad genius. "Hey, Percy, got any sharks?" He cursed, but handed them over.

"Thanks, I thought siblings were supposed to stick up for each other, but I see how it is."

I just shrugged, "Half-siblings don't count, according to you." I was remembering what he had said yesterday here.

Percy had been healing fine, but he was just too lazy to move out of bed. What a couch-potato.

"I, the fabulous and good-looking Leo Valdez, have arrived; you may applaud, but not too loud."

He came into the doorway and bowed before us.

"Tara is insane, I think you should know that before you go whisking her away from us." Jason said, but kept studying his cards. I leaned over to smack his arm, but then I remembered that they would see my cards if I did so. "I would slap you, but that's Piper's job." I smiled.

Everyone broke into smiles and giggles. Leo came and sat near me, but not too close.

Some part of me thought that recently I had been resenting him, and had been pushing him away when he was trying to help. Yesterday though, I blew up on everybody with a wave after wave of depression. And my little chat with Piper didn't seem to go as well as I had hoped either. Everything was all too much. I hadn't even been here a month.
