A/N: Before any of this, I want to say that it may get a teeny bit confusing, and I don’t want that. So, Zyra Hullinger is not a new character. That is Tara’s adoptive mother’s name. Tara’s mom’s name is Zyra. Just to clear that up. (Sorry I never told you guys her name before) thanks, and on with the show! Love, Bela xxx
Chapter 21: Daddy Comes To Town
The rest of my night was pretty much the same as the others in my past. Except I had never met my dad before tonight.
I spent a good deal of time just reorganizing my whole bedroom. I then wasted about a half hour trying to melt ice in my cup; just in case I ran into Khione again. In case you were wondering, I totally failed and only melted about a fourth of a tiny one smaller than my fingernail.
It seemed that the time flew by, and soon enough the sun was going down.
“Tara! Our guest is here!” My mom shouted from downstairs.
I quickly popped up from my bed, knocking over my glass of ice and water. “Crapballs.” I murmured and tried to think of a quick way to get rid of it.
I used my powers to lift it from the ground and back into the cup. The ice was quickly hand-picked and tossed into the sink.
“Tara? C’mon down sweetie!” She called again.
“Coming mom!” I yelled back.
Then I quickly rushed downstairs when I realized it was past eight o’clock. My mother could probably hear me if she were in New York. I had reached the bottom of the stairs when I heard a lower voice. It didn’t belong to my mom.
I sped faster than I had changed clothes earlier. Right as I almost slammed into the wall, I turned the corner and whammed into a giant guy.
“Whoa there. Hold your horses.” He laughed, and it felt like the sea itself was calmly rocking. “And let me tell you, those horses are not easy to actually hold! I would know, about five of them lead my chariot!” He laughed again.
I smiled weakly.
“Tara, this is your dad. Lord Poseidon, this is your daughter.” My mother gestured to each of us. I got a good look at the guy.
He wore khaki shorts and also was wearing a Guy Harvey tee, with blue and yellow fish swimming on the back, but they legit looked to be moving. I blinked, but it wasn’t a trick of the eye. They really were. His broad shoulders were moving with his breaths, and to top off his young fisherman look, a fisher’s hat was planted on top of his head.
This guy appeared to be just a regular mortal who seemed obsessed with the sport of fishing. And if anyone said different, they’d get their booty kicked.
