Chapter 28: A Prophecy I Knew Was Coming

“What? Tara, that’s absurd! You’re insane.” Nico said after I was done explaining my plan.

I gave him a look. We were sitting on the edge of the giant crater my horse, Blaze, had just made. Today was the 22nd. It was about two hours until dinner, and I was stuck here talking to Nico about a plan that he wasn’t even involved with. My horse, Blaze, had gone off to the stables to get some help with his wing a long time ago.

“I get that a lot.” I rolled my eyes, “But I’m not kidding. The address is right here! I am going to find them. You’ll see.”

Nico glanced at me, seeming worried. “I’m not going to intervene, but I want to tell you that you need to be careful. Trying to track down family can sometimes hurt you even worse. I know a whole lot about that.” He stared at the ground.

“I understand. But you shouldn’t be worried about me, I can handle myself. And I’m bringing a few people along with me, you know.” What did he think I was doing? Going on a suicide mission by myself? Pssh, yeah sure.

“Okay…” He didn’t seem sure. “But I probably need to get going. Think carefully, Tara.” He got up and left without a sound.

“Pfft. Think carefully, mybutt.” I mumbled. “Who does he think he is? My legal guardian? Oh please, he’s just a teen, like me, who doesn’t have a single clue what to do and where to go. I’m finding my family. Nobody’s gonna stop me.”

“Stop you from what?” Leo asked as he plopped himself right smack dab next to me. Yet again, I wanted to slap him.

“Nothing. You shouldn’t have heard anything.” I said quickly. He gave me an I’m-not-buying-it look. I sighed. “Fine. I’m going to find my family.”

“I thought you said your mother was dead.” He asked, looking confused.

“She is. I have an uncle named Dillon in California. And he had a daughter named Kasper. I’m going to find them.” I explained.

“Woah, woah, woah. California? Tara, you’re crazy.” Leo shook his head. Why did nobody believe I was going to find them?

“Fine. But you’ll see. There’s a prophecy coming up. It’s about me.” I said. “Apollo told me, “ I added. I hoped he’d trust me.

“Apollo? Dang. Well, I’m seriously taking a risk by trusting you, but I do. And when’s this prophecy coming up?” He asked.

“I have no clue.” I said, “Soon, I guess.”

Right as I said that, Jason broke through the brush, looking bewildered. “Guys! Hurry up and come to the Big House! Rachel’s about to have a prophecy.” Right on time. I gave Leo a look, and got up. Together, all three of us raced down to the tall house and ran through the door and into the living room. We got there right on time.

Rachel had green mist coming from her mouth, and she looked deathly pale. Just like the first time I had seen her. It was just as scary as ever, but this time I knew what to expect. And it wasn’t as startling. I saw that Jason, Piper, Leo, Chiron, Mr. D, and me were here. As we gathered around her, she began to speak. The same ghostly voice came out, and it was just as bone chilling. She said something that sounded like this:

Five, not three, shall got forth for thee,
