The class had finally finished, and I had walked out, Xavier following closely behind like a stray puppy looking for food and I had the piece steak in my hand.

"You're good at trig... think you could tutor me someplace quiet some time?" He spoke with confidence and I caught the innuendo at the end but faked innocence anyway.

Fake smile intact, I spoke in a sickly-sweet voice, "Me? Oh, I'm sure you can figure it out yourself. You're a big boy."

Scowling at me for pinching his cheek before it turned into a sly smile, he spoke all too confidently, "You don't even know the half of it Princess" He pressed again with yet another innuendo. "A little helping hand can never go astray"

"I'm sure the long line of girls desperately seeking your attention will be more than willing to give you a 'helping hand'" I nodded behind us to the rows of girls ogling him.

Without even looking at his groupies, he had a cheeky smirk etched on his face as he retorted. "Jealous, are we?"

"What's to be jealous of?" I tilted my head in mock-confusion.

"Come on Princess don't play dumb. We both know you're too smart for that." He poked me on the nose making me cringe and scrunch up my face.

"You know it's not polite to touch other people without their permission" I chided him.

"Completely agree. Consensual agreement from both parties is a must" How is it he is able to turn everything I say, into some sort of sexual innuendo?

"Absolutely" I curtly replied turning away and heading towards the cafeteria.

The heavy steps following close behind me shows that he hasn't given up yet, he's definitely persistent, isn't he?

I continued walking, his own steps falling in time with mine as we both headed towards the cafeteria, I pushed open one door and he did the other. As if on cue, the majority of the cafeteria simultaneously turned to see Xavier and me. I stood my ground, used to the many stares I usually got from having endured it at every new school I attended. Xavier, however, walked away without another word, heading over to a table full of guys that I saw earlier this morning as well as a couple of girls.

Weird. One minute he's non-stop shamelessly flirting with endless innuendos, then the next he's acting cold like that didn't just happen. Like I don't even exist. Even just yesterday, he was so angry towards Alex but had remained calm when he thanked me. Even how he acted with Peyton, holding her as if his life depended on it. Like if he had loosened his hold, she would slip away from him and never come back. Maybe he's just a really overprotective brother. Or maybe the fact that she was wondering the park alone only a little while ago could do that.

He's confused me already and I don't have it in me to figure him out before I'm ripped away from yet another speed bump town on my mom's ridiculous race to the top.
