As we walked back to the Common Room, I opened the envelope and began to read the invite aloud.
"You are cordially invited to Layla and Pansy's Semiformal Dinner and Dance, in honor of their 14th birthday," I read. "Saturday Evening July 2nd. Please arrive at six o'clock...blah blah blah..."
I skipped down to the bottom, and what was there made my eyes widen. "Bring a plus one?" I asked.
"Really? It says that?" Asked Harry. "Look. Right there." I said, handing him the invitation.
I looked at Hermione, and I could almost hear the gears turning in her head. "Harry, don't you understand? They're only having that party so you could be Layla's plus one." Said Hermione.
"But who do they think is going to be Pansy's?" I asked. "Malfoy probably. Parkinson has been up his arse since the first year." Said Ron.
"True," Said Harry. "To be honest, I'm willing to do anything to get out of being with the Dursley's. Even if it involves having a dance with a complete psychopath."
"Are they really that bad?" I asked.
"Not as bad as Lester, if that's what you're asking. I was locked in a cupboard for a good ten years of my life, and I think they're scared of me now, especially after what I accidentally did to Aunt Marge so usually they just glare at me and I just ignore them." Harry shrugged.
"How mad are they going to be that Ariel and I are going to be living with you?" I asked.
"I don't know. Probably very annoyed, but they can't say no to Dumbledore. Besides, you and Ariel will probably share a room, and I'll be forced into the attic."
"Isn't that a bad thing?" I asked. Harry shook his head. "The attic is really big, and they don't even use it for storage. It's empty except for a lot of dust since they don't use it," said Harry.
"Cool," I said.

Three weeks later on the last day of term, we'd gotten our results back for our exams. Harry, Ron, Hermione and I passed every single subject.
I'd barely passed Herbology with an A, but it was still a passing grade nonetheless. My highest grades were in Muggle Studies, Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts, which I'd passed with O's. The rest, I'd gotten E's.
That day, Blaise and I were walking to the Great Hall to get breakfast before the train left. "I can't believe that this is it. I'm not going to be here for the whole entire summer." I Said.
"That's how I feel every year." Said Blaise.
"You know, I'm gonna miss you over the summer. Who am I going to talk to about everything I hate?" I asked, and Blaise snorted.
"Who says that we can't see each other? You can come over my house anytime you want." Said Blaise.
"Really? Are you sure your mom won't mind?" I asked.
