At exactly 12:50 on January 21st, I made sure that all of my roommates were sleeping before I got out of bed and prepared all of the things I would need to talk to Sirius. Some of those things were my potion, the book I'd borrowed from the library on animagi, my wand, and peppermint oil that I had stolen from potions class (it preserves the potion after not being touched for a while.)

Right as I was about to leave my room, I heard a noise coming from Remi's bed, and I froze. I looked back towards him, and he was standing sleepily, giving me a look as if he was trying to say "what the hell are you doing, go to bed."

"Remi, go back to bed," I said softly. I wanted to pet him on the head, but I didn't, in fear of accidentally dropping the things in my hand. He frowned and cocked his head to the side.

"I'm going into the common room for a bit bud, I'll be back soon," I whispered.

Remi shook his head, before hopping up onto my shoulder and nuzzling his face into my neck.

"You're so lucky you're cute," I muttered, and I could feel him smirk with his face against my neck. He hummed in delight and hooked his fingers onto my bra strap so that he wouldn't fall off.

I left my dorm and gently closed the door behind me. I walked down the stairs into the empty common room and sat down cross-legged in front of the warm fire. I set the potion lightly away from the fire so that the ashes wouldn't float into it, and Remi decided to curl up in my arms, stick a thumb in his mouth, and hold one of my fingers with his other hand.

"You are the cutest little thing, you know that?" I asked, brushing my thumb over his warm fuzzy cheek. "I love you."

"Who are you talking to?"

I flinched and looked at the fire. Sirius's face was there, and he looked extremely confused.

"You scared me," I sighed. I held up Remi so that he'd be able to see him. "This is Remi, my child."

"Why do you have a monkey?" Asked Sirius with a small smile. "Aren't they not allowed at Hogwarts?"

"If you haven't noticed, I do what I want a lot of the time," I said. "I've gotten McGonagall's approval and everything because he doesn't bother anyone. He's quiet and likes to read. Sometimes I bring him to classes with me, and whenever he's there he usually just sits with me and colors with some of the crayons that I bought him."

Sirius stared at me with his jaw dropped. "If I were to bring a monkey to Hogwarts, McGonagall would have sent it back with an owl and given me detention," said Sirius. "You've got the staff wrapped around your finger."

I shrugged. "Not necessarily. I guess I'm on really good terms with McGonagall and used to be on good terms with Snape but you know. That ended as soon as I found out he was my godfather. And Dumbledore favors me and Harry more than he'd like to admit. Oh, and Moody and Hagrid love Harry."

"And you don't have them wrapped around your finger?" Asked Sirius with an eyebrow raised.

"I mean, I guess," I said. "but anyway, how are you, Sirius? I miss seeing you all the time."

Sirius smiled, and I had almost forgotten how warm Sirius' smile was. "I miss you too, Maya. And I'm doing well, I've been staying well hidden now that I'm close to Hogsmeade, but this isn't about me Prongslet. In the letter, you mentioned mental health and wanting to discuss it with a proper adult."

"You promise not to judge me?" I asked, suddenly feeling a bit nervous. I've never actually gone into detail about all of my issues with an adult alone, so I didn't exactly know how to feel.
