By noon the next day, Harry, Ariel and I all had our trunks for school packed with everything that we would need for the next ten months.
This included our wands, my Firebolt along with Harry's, Harry's Invisibility Cloak and all of the pictures and posters that I had taken off of my wall.
Harry, Ariel, the Dursley's and I were just lounging around the house, waiting for the Diggorys to come.
Uncle Vernon had put on his best suit. To some people, this might have looked like a gesture of welcome, but Harry had explained to me that it was because Uncle Vernon wanted to look 'impressive and intimidating'.
Dudley was wearing a button down shirt with a pair of khaki shorts, and Aunt Petunia was just wearing a blouse with a skirt.
"Well, it's twelve. Where are they?" Asked Uncle Vernon. "They're coming." Said Ariel. "They live pretty far from here."
"Right," said Uncle Vernon, clearly holding back his scowl.
Then the doorbell rang.
Ariel leaped up from her spot on the couch and rushed over to the door to open it.
She flung the door open to reveal none other than Cedric Diggory, and his little sister Becca. They were both wearing normal muggle clothing, which was a relief, and I could see a red Mercedes convertible parked right in front of the driveway.
"Hi!" Exclaimed Ariel, nearly tackling Becca while she hugged her.
"Hi." Said Becca.
Cedric just stood behind them, leaning on the door frame as he sent his million-dollar smile my way.
Ariel and Becca let go of each other, and Ariel basically dragged Becca into the house. I saw Aunt Petunia sneer slightly as if she was completely disgusted by Becca being inside of her house.
"Come on Becca! My bags and stuff are upstairs." Said Ariel.
"Alright," Said Becca as she followed Ariel up the stairs.
"Hey Ced—" I was cut off by Uncle Vernon marching his way to the door and standing directly in front of him.
"So you are the supposed 'Diggory' eh?" Asked Uncle Vernon. "This is my wife, Petunia, and my son Dudley. And I'm Vernon."
"Nice to meet you, sir. I'm Cedric." Said Cedric, sticking out a hand for Uncle Vernon to shake.
Uncle Vernon recoiled slightly and ignored his hand. "Same Cedric that was on the phone with Amaya a few days ago?"
"It's Maya, Jesus," I muttered under my breath, as Harry chuckled lightly and put a hand on my shoulder.
"Yes, sir," said Cedric.
"Oh, I've heard absolutely so much about you." Said Uncle Vernon, stepping aside, allowing him to come into the house. He gave him such a condescending look when he walked in, there was nothing more that I wanted to do than kick him right in his walrus nose.
"Where are your parents, boy?" Asked Uncle Vernon. "They're both at work." Said Cedric.
"What do they do to be able to afford to get you that kind of car?" Asked Vernon, taking another glance at his convertible.
"Oh, that thing? My parent's got that for me a few days ago as an early birthday gift. And my mum's a healer, or as you would call it, a nurse. My dad just works with law enforcement."
"Like a lawyer?" Asked Vernon.
"More like a police officer," said Cedric.
Uncle Vernon nodded in almost-approval. "Alright."
