I don't want a lot for Christmas

Den woke up to that song. Her eyes surveyed the room and she saw Aly holding a hair brush and lip-syncing the song in front of a mirror. Natawa naman siya dito. Both of them became busy lately with games, trainings, and exams kaya natuwa din siya na maabutan si Aly sa umaga na ganyan pa kasaya.

Aly saw Den's reflection at the mirror looking at her. Humarap siya dito at lalo pang nagperform. Sinabayan niya na ang pag lip-sync ng simple dance moves.

Den sat up and clapped her hands and Aly bowed."You seem happy," Den said.

"Super! Start na ng Christmas break eh. Yay!" sabi ni Aly.

"And what's so good about Christmas?" Den asked.

"Well, Christmas just happens to be the most wonderful time of the year."

"Really now. Paano mo naman nasabi?" tanong ni Den.

"Kanya kanya naman tayo ng reasons. For me I love Christmas because it brings people together. Everyone seems happy and nice. Tapos natutuwa pa ako everytime I see joy in someone's eyes after opening a gift lalo na mga bata. Ikaw naman Ebenezer Scrooge? Bakit hindi mo gusto ang pasko?" It's Aly's turn to ask.

"Who said that I don't like it? Gustong-gusto ko kaya."

"But you sounded otherwise," sabi ni Aly.

"I just want to know how you feel about the season kaya ang dami kong tanong," Den explained.

Aly sat on Den's bed. "Okay. So, ikaw naman. Bakit gusto mo ang pasko?" tanong nito.

"Actually, pareho tayo ng reasons. Pero ang main talaga is because I love giving gifts. I'm more of a giver kasi. Kaya like you, I am happy whenever I see my gifts get appreciated."

"So, anong gift mo sa akin?" asked Aly.

"What makes you think I'm going to give you one?" Den joked good-naturedly.

Aly, realizing what Den is doing, approached the latter and started tickling her. "Wala akong gift?" asked Aly poking Den's right side.

"Ako na teammate mo?" Left side.

"Ako na besh mo?" Back to the right side.

Den couldn't take the tickling anymore so she held Aly's hands. Sakto naman sa pagsabi ni Aly na, "At ako na future partner mo?"

Natigilan naman sila pareho. They stayed in that position for a while. Aly let go first when her phone alarm came to life.

Aly stood up and said, "Den, una na ko ha."

"Where are you going?"

"Hahatid ko pa nga pala sa airport si Tricia ngayon."

"Sa Davao siya magchristmas?" pag-usisa ni Den. Aly just nodded her head.

"So, hindi mo pala siya makakasama sa break."

"Oo nga e. Si Andre ba? Where will he spend Christmas?" Aly asked.

"Just around. Wala pa naman daw silang plans ng family niya so far."

"Mabuti pa siya," said Aly.
