Face Off

"Good morning. Breakfast is served," Rachel said with zeal as the Lady Eagles made their way to the dining area.

"Woah! Tell me I'm not dreaming, please. Ang daming food! You cooked all of these, Ate Rad?" tanong ni Gizelle na tuwang-tuwa sa pagkain sa harap niya.

"Yes, Gizelle. All for you, guys."

"I think we should hire Rad as assistant coach after the league. We can't afford to lose her," A said.

"Hoy kayo, huwag naman abusuhin si Rad. Parang gusto niyo ng gawing chef dito e," sabi naman ni Charo.

"Who wouldn't want that? Look at all the food, Coach! I'm gonna cry," saad naman ni Ella.

"You can do all the crying while we eat. Okay, Ella? Ang OA mo e," sabi ni Gretch. Nagmake face lang si Ella at umupo na.

"Marami akong niluto para may choices kayo. You can go american with pancakes, bacon, and eggs. May mga Filipino food din naman sa mga gusto ng rice for breakfast," reminded Rachel.

"I could go Fil-Am!" Ella said while raising her hand. This made everyone laugh.

"Nothing new. Pang multi-national yang tiyan mo e!" Mae said in jest.

"Ganun talaga. Acquired taste ang kailangan para maappreciate ang food from different countries," Ella said proudly na para bang isa talaga siyang food critique.

"What Mae meant was pang multi-national ang dami ng kaya mong kainin!" pang-aasar din naman ni Jem.

"You know what, guys? I'm just gonna prove that," said Ella as she started digging in.

"Hay naku, guys. Attack na before pa maubos ni Ella," utos ni Fille at nagsiupo na nga sila.

Aly sat beside Den and Rad intentionally sat beside Aly.

"Ly, pancakes o," offered Den.

"Magrice muna ko, Den."

Rad then entered the scene. "Here. Adobo. Favorite mo di ba?"

Aly let Rad put food on her plate. "Thanks. You still remember."

"Hindi ko naman kinalimutan," Rad said with a smile. Aly smiled back.

"Here's the rice pala." Again, Rad served food on Aly's plate.

"Try mo kayang kumain. Here, Rach. Gusto mo itong longganisa di ba? Mukhang Vigan ito ah," alok ni Aly.

"Yeah. Inorder ko talaga yan for today's breakfast."

"Ang hirap hanapin ng favorite mo. Remember pag nagcrave ka nito, we would look pa for Ilocano restaurants na may ganito. Pahirap ka," Aly reminisced.

"Bakit? Pagnakahanap naman na tayo ikaw pa nauunang umorder ng bagnet at empanada."

"Masarap e!"

"Kaya nga I'd invite you na samahan ako noon kasi I want you to be able to eat din yung mga gusto mo."

"Ah, so you were doing me a favor pa pala?" asked Aly sabay sundot sa tagiliran ni Rachel.

"Oo kaya. Di mo pala napapansin yun?"

"E sila ba mapapansin niyo?" singit ni Ella.

Aly and Rad gave her questioning looks. Ella used her lips to point at their teammates then immediately stuffed her mouth with food again.

Aly and Rad looked at where Ella was pointing and saw their teammates just looking at them.
