'I have caught his scent!' Randel stated proudly. "You caught it four times before but 'it ran away'. Are you absolutely sure that you have it now?" Percy said to the wolf who just let out an annoyed growl. "Unless another injured male Alpha passed through here, I'm absolutely positive," Randel said. With that Percy's body moved forward, once again without his consent.

The speed the wolf traveled was incomprehensible, Percy's surroundings seeming to melt away as he ran. His body made an abrupt stop, and it brought Percy to put off his thoughts as his surroundings materialized. He was in a den of trees, his body in a low crouch, his teeth slightly bared.

There was a clearing, that once was probably just like the rest of the forest. Green and alive. But here, the bushes were trampled, the grass was covered in blood. And lying in the grass, was a wolf, barely breathing. His breaths were quick and small, and he was covered in arrow wounds. The smell of blood was distinct and blocking out Percy's other senses, his vision tunneling in on the wolf.

'That's him.' Randel says. "Over 'ere men!" A familiar voice said. Percy scowled. Scalem. Percy had almost forgotten him. "We have to get to him before they do," Percy said, stating the obvious. The second the half horseman appeared, Randel and Percy moved simultaneously pounced forward, landing in front of the injured wolf.

"It seems I have underestimated Young Hel's intuition once again." Percy heard, and he recognized the wolf spirit's voice. Randel crouched and growled at the horseman. "Um, sir? There are two now." One of Scalem's men said, stating the obvious. "Really? You don't say." Scalem says sarcastically, his blade pushed forward. "That means more power. And more power means more control, don't it boys?" "Please don't let him kill me. Usually, I'd be more humble and tell you to run, but I'd rather be killed by someone who can use proper grammar. Don't it? Do not it?" Percy heard the wolf spirit say. And Percy thought he had problems staying focused.

"Kill 'em!" Scalem exclaimed. And Percy fell to the ground, nothing covering his body but the warping shadows that he called when he realized he was naked. He was human again. And he saw Randel pounce at the first man who raised his sword, and he saw the wolf rip the weapon from his hand. Along with his hand. Dropping the hand onto the ground, he swiped a paw at it and moved it away, standing protectively in front of Percy and the wolf.

Percy stood, and he felt the weight of Riptide in his hand, and it sprang to life. He himself joined the fight, with Randel covering his back. They had formed a protective circle around the injured wolf spirit who seemed to have been running out of time. He was losing more blood every passing second, and his eyes were closing ever so slowly.

An ally of the current warrior Percy had been fighting with managed to land an arrow in Percy's shoulder when he had turned to check on the wolf spirit. A mistake on both fighters' parts. Riptide landed on the ground, and Percy's blood splattered onto his opponent's armor.

And that armor began to sizzle, beginning to burn through Percy's opponent's chainmail armor. Percy's blood reached its victim's bare skin, and his screams silenced all fighting. Percy stood there, the pain in his shoulder ignored. "What is wrong with you all! He probably just poisoned himself with his sword." Scalem yelled, but even he sounded unsure.

Poison. Yesterday, when Percy first found out about all of this, he had been cut by a sword and poison was released into his bloodstream. The pain had stopped, but he had never removed the poison from his bloodstream.

But even if it was poison in his bloodstream, it shouldn't burn... If he wasn't a champion of Hestia. Randel was the first to begin attacking again, his speed even frightening to Percy. With Scalem's men still watching their comrade scream, he had taken down a majority of the men and, panting, sat next to the barely conscious wolf.

The look he was giving Percy was easy to decipher. Your turn.

Scalem roared- no joke- and charged at the wolves, and Percy jerked his head to the side, and the blood burning his comrade turned to an ice dagger and shot at the centaur. It wasn't a good throw, as Percy was feeling drowsy, and it strayed from its attended target. Instead of hitting the centaur, it struct the tree behind it, and it burned through said tree.

"Uh, sir... It's still going." One of Scalem's soldiers said, looking through the hole that the dagger burned. "Ok, it landed in a tree." One of his men confirmed, a pair of peculiar-looking binoculars in his hands. "How far was that Butch?" The one with the binoculars asked. Butch took a look at himself. "About... 3.6 million faerie steps," Butch said. Approximately 1 mile. Percy's mind translated. This voice in his head had been there since Goruk, and he had yet to acknowledge its presence. And Percy wasn't about to start now.

The fighting had stopped, and Randel had done a very well job of tending to his fellow wolf's wounds, because the wolf spirit was awake and lively, looking confused. "So... No more fighting?" He asked. Randel growled at the soldiers who lifted their swords and crept closer protectively to the still injured Percy. "Butch!" Scalem called.

The same warrior who made the 'calculation' before came up. "What is our chance of winning?" "About... 34 horse feet." 0.00034%.

And it's not like Percy witnessed the fight that was definitely in his favor as his opponents far more idiots than he. But things took a turn for the worst when Percy heard a familiar small voice.

"Misty! Where are you!" A panicked Iggy stood there tears on his face and blood covering his arms. "It's Mel!" And then the loss of blood finally began to overtake Percy with multiple things happening at once.

Iggy crying, and a sword hurdling at him.
The blood that hit the ground shortly after.
And before Percy closed his eyes, Iggy stopped crying.
