Percy watched as his hands, still covered in blood from his last victim, reached for another. Void was picking at random, all of them already chained down and immobile, already accepting that they were going to die. And Percy watched, helplessly trapped in his own mind for years.
Or what felt like it. It could've been months, decades, centuries, millennia, there was no real concept of time in the void. Naturally, Void seemed allergic to look at a calendar or maybe a clock before he destroyed the planet, so Percy was left in the dark. Quite literally.
His wrists had been chained for however long, and the metal bands had embedded themselves in his wrists. Percy winced at the idea of having to ever remove them, whether he was free or not. Not his physical body, no, he lost that when he lost the fight with Void. The part of him that's left, still holding on. Even when they're dead, the fates refused to let him die.
The old ladies were the only people from his planet aside from himself and Chaos' handmaids who were still in existence. With the little power they had, they kept him from fading into the Void and finally dying. Clotho kept spinning that endless blue string and Lachesis kept drawing it out. Atropos had the easiest job. All she had to do was watch the string pile up and not cut it. And pile up it did.
Percy had begged them once, begging for them to stop. They were the fates, even if they had such little power, they could keep him alive. They had the power to kill him too. But they ignored him. Atropos was the only one who really interacted with him at all, seeing as she wouldn't be cutting his life strong any time soon. She spoke with him sometimes, providing him with the names of the planets and reminiscing over her now-deceased daughter Fate.
At first, Percy couldn't feel everything his body was doing, and he couldn't feel anything but his helplessness. Void had taken all control. But, for however long, Void began to grow comfortable, careless, and Percy found himself able to feel more.
Maybe Void thought he'd faded away by now. The more blood that Void covered Percy's hands with, however, the less helpless Percy felt. He felt the power coursing through him, through his veins. So much power, in fact, that Percy wondered how he hadn't simply exploded. That is until he noticed the black marks un his arms glowing every time Void used a large amount of power. Maybe one day, he'll be able to thank Silas, and maybe even the carrot king for relinquishing them to him, even though he'd much rather Silas be alive. Or maybe not.
The first thing Void did was destroy every planet he'd been to. Kaworie, Dray, Elvin Seis, Goruk. All of them blown to pieces when Void snapped his fingers.
Void destroyed a planet and moved on to another one. It was a hobby for him, as he claimed his main goal was to find and kill his brothers, both of which had been impeccable at avoiding him. It was one of the only thoughts that Void let slip. Otherwise, he was just as airheaded as Percy. The thought that the brothers were still alive irked Percy, seeing as one would think Void could at least do that.
The new planet, the one that Void planned on wasting, was different. Different in the fact that it was made up of nothing but water, the people living in the depths. Void had to stay afloat using his own power, eventually even flying out of reach as Percy's connection with water didn't have to apply to him. This made Percy one of the best handicaps ever if the son of Poseidon said so himself. Void now had waves trying to kill him at every planet he went to, but he didn't know it.
The waves crashed, and Percy thought it to either be a wonderful coincidence or just a convenient event for the plot that Void chose this planet to destroy. Even as he flew, the waves stretched towards him, crashing back down with a threatening clap warning all of the people that were visible just under the surface to retreat.
