Michael's POV
Wisdom is definitely a forced to be reckoned with. Today I just wish that it wasn't. Just as Rose warned, I'm sick as a freaking dog today. Personally I think I needed a day of rest I'm just thankful Calum isn't sick, well that I know of. I only woke up a half hour ago and I'm pretty much crawling down the stairs wrapped in a blanket to make myself some tea. Ever since I was a little boy I hated for Rose to take care of me whenever I was sick, but she always did anyway.
I was trying my hardest not to make any noise but I couldn't stop the sneeze that I just had to release. Every inch of my body was achy and the sneeze was followed by a painful cough which made me whimper like a child. The tea kettle started to whistle and I poured the boiling water into the mug with a tea bag in it. I let my trembling hands wrap around the steaming mug in an attempt to warm myself. Just as I suspected, Rose hurried into the kitchen when she heard all the noise I was making and caught me.
"Michael dear what is wrong?" she asked as she approached me. I let out a cough and shook my head as she placed her palm to my forehead checking my temperature.
"I'm fine." I mumbled but my sore throat made my voice scratchy.
"No my dear, you are sick. Come, let's lay you in bed so you can rest." She said and attempted to drag me to my bed but I objected. Calum now entered the kitchen with sleepy eyes and messy hair looking at me confused.
"No I don't need you to take care of me Rosie, I'm fine." I whined but she was putting her foot down.
"Some ones got to take care of you Michael, you're sick." She protested but I moaned in response.
"I'll take care of you Mikey." Calum said from behind Rose making her turn around in shock. Calum's eyes were on me momentarily but then they dropped to the floor.
"You don't have to Cal, I'm fine." I said but the truth was I wasn't fine. I felt so sick and I just wanted to curl up into bed.
"Just please take care of him Calum, I've got things to do." Rose pouted that I wouldn't let her take care of me but if Calum wanted to she wouldn't deny him.
Once Rose was gone I continued to sip my tea and Calum moved to the stove to pour him a cup too. I slumped down into the stool and let my head rest against the granite countertop. I've never felt this sick in my entire life.
"Wait here." Calum said softly and took off up the stairs. Minutes later he walked past me with an armful of folded blankets and pillows and disappeared down the hallway. Then he headed back upstairs and came down with another blanket and his sweatshirt, handing it to me. My eyes looked over the black material then back up to Calum's brown eyes.
"Your sweatshirt?" I questioned and Calum did something odd for him, he smiled. Smiled with his beautiful teeth showing and small crinkles forming by his eyes. My heart clenched at the beautiful sight and I did my best to breathe normally.
"It uh, it's really warm and I thought maybe it would comfort you." Calum mumbled and I quickly pulled the sweatshirt over my head. I watched as Calum grabbed my tea and ushered me to follow him to the game room where apparently he had packed all the blankets to.
With Calum's back turned to me, I took that as a good opportunity to inhale the comforting fragrance trapped in the fabric of Calum's sweatshirt. The minty cologne mixed with the soft body wash he uses filled my nose as I hugged myself in the soft material of the sweat shirt. Calum never took the damn thing off except for when Rose washed it so it made me somehow feel closer to him. Calum was slowly spreading all the pillows and blankets out on the huge sofa and urged me to take a seat.
