Michael's POV

After a week and with both Calum and Luke at work, my boredom was reaching record highs. I've began to watch those lame ass soap operas that grannies watch and I actually pay attention to them. I was feeling better I don't know why they were keeping me another day. On about day three I had developed a fever from an infection and had to be put on some crazy antibiotics but I was recovering. Calum and Luke had been staying with me every night but during the day it's just me and my sappy television shows. Today they finally let me change into my own clothes and take a proper shower. I was slowly feeling like my old self again. Even with the extreme boredom. And of course the nagging soreness from my stomach but I digress. I took a deep breath and flicked off the tv to deafening silence. If only I could just get up and go home or even outside. I took a sip of my water just as there was a knock on my door.

"Come in." I whined out and the door clicked as it was slowly pushed open. I watched the door open slowly and my eyes finally met some familiar blue ones. Her blonde hair was in two braids and she was clutching a colorful teddy bear. Julie. Her mum urged her in the doorway and shut the door behind her but I became extremely excited to have some guests.

"Julie!" I exclaimed and she waved shyly. I shifted against the bed in attempt to sit up straighter but as I've discovered, it's impossible to be comfortable on these hospital beds.

"Go on Julie, you wanted to come visit him." Her mum chuckled and pushed the little girl forward until she finally reached my bed side. I smiled and patted the bed next to me in hopes she'd sit with me. Julie scrambled herself up to sit cross legged next to me on the bed, careful not to harm me in any way.

"Julie I'm so glad you came to visit." I gushed and hugged the little girl tightly.

"I brought you this bear Mikey. It has colored hair just like you." She teased passing over the cuddly little toy. I squeezed it to my chest once before sitting it on the table next to my bed. I turned back to the little girl who was smiling big enough for me to notice that she had lost her front tooth. I remember she'd been so excited to tell me that it was loose the last time we were at therapy.

"Hey you lost that tooth!" I chuckled and she smiled even bigger. We teased and she told me a million stories about her new puppy and school. It was refreshing to see Julie again.

"I hope you don't mind that we dropped by. We saw Calum at the therapist and he told us what had happened so of course Julie wanted to come check on you." Julie's mum explained with a small chuckle from her seat across the room.

"I'm glad you did because I've been extremely bored this week." I assured them both. Her mum stood from her chair and made her way to my bedside. She wrapped me in a tight squeeze before keeping me at arms length. Her eyes scanned over my face before she hugged me again.

"I'm so glad you're okay Mikey. If you ever need anything just call." She patted my shoulder before heading towards the doorway.

"Come on Jules you've got piano lessons in twenty minutes we can't be late, again." She informed the little girl. With a couple awes and a final hug Julie hopped off my bed to follow her mum out. I waved as they disappeared from sight leaving me to stare at the ceiling in nagging boredom. Calum should be back soon, I hope.

I grabbed up my phone to see no texts or calls. What a surprise. Not. I have literally no friends with the exception of Luke, Julie and my boyfriend, who even cares that I'm in the hospital? Even my parents don't. It's something about being isolated that gears up the feeling of extreme loneliness. It shouldn't matter to me whether people care or not but since I'm sitting in the hospital all alone, it suddenly matters. When you're alone you feel as if you are truly, alone. Like maybe you could truly be the only person that cares about yourself but even you don't give a shit. Lack of human contact really fucks up your mind.
