Olivia was asked normal questions, mostly about her relationship with Elliot and her relationship with Cassidy. They were easy to answer, but then Damien Gold asked Olivia the questioned he started out with.
"Mrs. Stabler, are you mentally stable?" He asked, and Olivia swallowed hard.
"Just like everyone else, I have bad days and good days. I'm a good mother, and I try my hardest to never have my sons see me when I'm having those bad days." Olivia breathed. She made the mistake of looking over at Brian and seeing a frown that had settled onto his features.
He knew. He has seen her at rock bottom, and now he was making her talk to everyone about it.
"According to your personal file at Manhattan Sex Crimes, you have been in therapy before. And you were sent to a support group after you were sexually assaulted. Also, it says you were sent to therapy to help with the passing of your mother?"
"I have gone to therapy. My husband has and so has Mr. Cassidy." Olivia sighed.
"That's not what I asked."
"Your questioned wasn't clear." Olivia huffed.
"Do you think that you are a good mother to your son even if you have attended therapy and were sexually assaulted?" He questioned, which sent Daisy to her feet.
"Your-"
"Mr. Gold, if you do not have any other questions you are done."

Court was done for the day, and Olivia got out of there as quickly as possible. She went outside and ran her hands through her hair as she drew in deep breaths. All she wanted to do was go home and hold all of her sons. She wanted them all to know that no matter what she has been through, she'll always try her hardest to be a good mother. She wasn't going to let her babies get hurt because Brian was being greedy all of a sudden.
"Liv." Brian breathed, as he walked down the stairs of the courthouse.
"Don't," Olivia whispered, as she shook her head.
"Please, let me explain why I'm doing this!" Brian exclaimed.
"Why you decide now, after telling me 6 years ago that you wanted me to abort our child? Because I feel like this is just you telling me to fuck off because I decided to stop fucking you." Olivia spat.
"I'm sorry that Damien asked you about your therapy and such." Brian frowned, as he sank down onto the stairs and looked at his ex and the woman that he still loved.
"Brian, you know that I get embarrassed about that all. How I feel like less of a woman because that bastard tried to rape me. Because my mother was raped. Because I struggle every day to keep doing what I do to make sure my boys grow up and become good men, and can live in a world where there is always one last bad guy out there to hurt them." Olivia frowned. She sank down beside him, as she smoothed her dress.
"You are doing a great job raising them, Liv. And I'm sorry, but I want to be a part of our son's life. He's my only kid, and I love him. I got sober for him and for you. I go to therapy and I got to AA meetings. Okay? I'm going to be a good dad to him."
"But what if it ruins his whole outlook on the world? On his world?" Olivia whispered.

Brian actually really heard what Olivia said. What if Cassidy couldn't trust people anymore if he finds out the man who has raised him since he was born, wasn't his real father?
He went back to his new apartment and sat at his desk as he held a picture of his son that Damien found for him when he was doing his investigating.
Brian didn't want his son to get hurt. He didn't want his kid to be pushed around. He wanted him to have a happy childhood without the pain of finding out his father isn't really his father.
Brian grabbed his cell and he called Olivia's cell number. He sat the frame back down beside his bed and leaned back against his pillows.
"Brian?" Olivia whispered.
"Hey, so I'm going to drop the case." Brian spoke.
"What?" Olivia whimpered, as she felt her heart skip a beat.
"I don't want to hurt you anymore, Liv. I don't want to hurt Cassidy. But I do have something that I need you to do."
"Oh, of course..."
"I want to meet him. I want to be more like an uncle to him if possible."
"Bri-"
"Please, Liv. I want to hear his voice, hear his laugh, see his smile." Brian whispered, as his voice started to shake and his eyes filled with tears.
"Okay." She breathed.
"Really?"
"Yeah. Uh, Elliot is going to be at work tomorrow. You can come over at around 8 if possible. The little boys will still be in bed and Cassidy and I will be spending time together."
"Okay, I'll be there." Brian spoke, quickly. They both hung up, and Brian wiped a tear from his cheek.

"Why were you hiding in the pantry tonight?" Elliot asked as he laid beside his wife. She looked up from her book and bit her lip.
"Brian is going to drop the suit."
"Really?!" He questioned, eagerly.
"Yes, and all we have to do is let him be an uncle to Cass."
"No. Abs-"
"This isn't your choice, Elliot! God, this is my choice. He is going to meet Brian, and he is going to get to know him. I don't care if you think it is the wrong choice, but the wrong choice would be us saying no to the deal. Can you imagine what he would do if he won? If we lost custody of our son completely... We would be lost and our sons wouldn't know what was happening. Joey is only a year old but he looks up to Cass already, let alone Hunter and Danny. God, our 3 and 4-year-old would be scared and confused and it would do more harm to all of them."
"Fuck you." Elliot spat, before climbing out of bed and storming out of the room.
