TWO
DAYS
BEFORE

Ariana was sitting in her room trying to find her camera that somehow got misplaced when she heard her mother call her from downstairs. Apparently there was someone there to see her so she told her mom to just tell whoever it was to come up to her room. You could hear the loud footsteps come up the steps but get quieter and slower as whoever it was got closer to her room. She had her back to the door when Jungkook walked in and attempted to scare her by creeping up behind her. When he didn't get a reaction out of her he pouted, her rolling her eyes at the sight.

"I could hear your footsteps kook you're quite loud."

"Give me some credit! I'm not Spider-Man."

Ariana paused at the mention of the famous superhero. Spider-Man had been around for about four years now but it felt longer to the hero himself, each day seeming to drag on. When he started he was around fourteen but was now seventeen and a junior in high school like Ariana. He was always sneaking around at different times of the night or day and was all over the news the minute he made an appearance. The fact that Ariana knew him personally made it more difficult on her to have to watch what he goes through whenever he's out there fighting but she'd continue to help him and stay by his side. Loyalty ran deep with her.

"I think Spider-Man could use some help though, from anyone. It's a lot of pressure having to look after so many people."

Jungkook sat down on the floor next to Ariana. He rested his chin in the palm of his left hand as her cat jumped into his lap and rested there. You could hear the honking of cars outside with the constant busy flow of traffic that never seemed to lessen or end on any day of the year. The afternoon sunshine shone through her balcony doors forming little stretches of sunlight on the carpet. Her curtains moved with the breeze that came through one of the doors she opened not too long ago since it was stuffy in her room. For a spilt second there was a bird perched on the balcony railing but flew away when it saw the cat inside.

"I can't imagine having that type of weight on your shoulders. Having to go out when you get the feeling something is going wrong or having to decide on who to save and who not to. How does he do it?" Jungkook was genuinely curious.

Ariana knew the answer to that. He did have some help though, but it was coming from someone that was only human and couldn't do what he did. All she could do was talk to him through the small earpiece in his suit, watch what's happening on a special laptop made just for her, and patch up injuries when he got back. She was another set of eyes but also a motivator to keep him going when it got tough. It was enough to ease his mind every time he stepped out in the suit or when he felt alone. The partnership started when she offered to assist him when he mentioned wanting some backup a year and a half ago, the rest being history.

"I think after awhile you just get used to it. Even though I can't even begin to comprehend what he must feel every single time he watches someone tear apart the city. I think he'll be able to manage with all the support he gets."

Jungkook nodded and petted the cat in his lap. Ariana was convinced it loved him more than her. "I've always wondered who he actually is. When it comes to heroes I've always been overly curious which can be a bad thing. But it's kinda hard not to be."

Ariana stood up with her camera in her hands that she finally found in its tucked away place under her bed. Jungkook had always been a curious person and when Spider-Man first showed up he was absolutely obsessed with him. He had a few pictures of him in his room that were taken from magazines or newspapers next to the ones of him and Ariana. Whenever she was in his room she'd look at it with an uncomfortable feeling settling down on her. He was so willing to do whatever it took to help Spider-Man if he ever got the chance or help any hero at all, and that could end badly for everyone involved. He just couldn't understand how much trouble it'd cause if something were to happen to him.
