i know you're scared of the unknown,
you don't wanna be alone.Ariana had returned home to her apartment a few hours later. She was exhausted both physically and emotionally from what happened that day to a point where all she wanted to do was sleep. Her mother was in the kitchen finishing the last of supper, the smell of the food cooking making her stomach growl.
"Ari baby is that you?"
"Yes mama, who else would it be?"
"It could've been Jungkook! How was your day sweetheart?"
Ariana sat on the counter across from the stove where her mother was cooking. It was a night she was off so she was able to cook something for them both which she enjoyed being able to do when she had the chance.
"It was alright. Just tired as usual."
She didn't have the heart to tell her mother what she was going through. Ariana didn't want her to worry. Even though it was her mother and she could trust her with absolutely anything it was different with a situation like this.
"School stressing you out?" She asked while stirring some pasta.
"It always is. Junior year is just as draining as everyone said it'd be. Almost a senior though I think I can make it."
"You can baby!" She put the spoon down and walked over to her daughter. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, something she's been doing since she was a child. "Summer break will be here before you know it and soon you'll be a senior. I have faith in you."
"Thank you mama."
Her voice almost cracked but she contained herself in time. Her mother had no idea what she was going through. Not a lot of people did.
"I made your favorite. Fried pork chops, pasta, peas, and some of my homemade rolls. Figured I'd go all out tonight."
They sat at the dinner table and talked. Ariana was able to forget today's events while they ate and afterwards they went into the living room and watched a movie. They ate a hot fudge sundae for dessert, something Taehyung would go crazy for. After they finished the movie her mother went to turn the TV off but right as she grabbed the remote a news report popped up on the screen.
"On tonight's news we have a special video to show. Just hours ago we were able to talk to Spider-Man himself and asked him some questions about Sunflower, take a look."
The screen then went to a video of Miles standing on a sidewalk in Brooklyn. He had just stopped a robbery and couldn't get away from the interviewers in time.
"I appreciate what Sunflower is doing. She seems to be a good person with good intentions. I look forward to working alongside her. Maybe with time, everyone will respect her as well."
"It was a brief interview with Spider-Man but it was our first time actually getting him to say anything. Will we see more of Spider-Man and Sunflower in the future? Let us know your thoughts."
Ariana could feel herself relax a little bit at what Miles had said. She'd definitely thank him later for it.
"Oh my... Sunflower." Her mother whispered.
