I must've startled him because he turns around, green eyes wide. His feet slip and loosing his footing, he starts to fall. Luckily, I made it, barely holding on to him with all my strength.

He looked up at me, his green eyes still wide with surprise. His eyes held little flecks of gold in them; as if they were the last rays of the setting sun before it dissapeared beyond the horizon. The green darkened around the edges, like the green of the forests. I could honestly get lost in them. They never looked so good on the t.v. or posters.

His jawline was sharp, his figure lean, yet muscular.

Now is not the time, Livia. Do you want him to die because you were too busy admiring him?

I really could watch him all day.

My grip begins to loosen.  He was pretty heavy.

"Who are you?" He asked, his brows furrowed.

His voice is deeper than I imagined.

I can die happy now.

Oh wait, I need to pull him up first.

"Who-"

"Is that your priority right now? You could die and you're asking who I am?"

"I'm not-"

"You'll die, idiot," I said, panting. I was never the type to exercise much, so it didn't surprise me that I was already out of breath. "If you have time to talk, climb up."

He looked like he wanted to say something, but listened,  holding onto the railing with his free arm. A lot of struggle and a lot of damage to my stomach later, he was finally back on the safe side of the railing.

I collapsed on the floor, having used up energy I didn't know I had. Alan sits beside me, and if it weren't for the current situation, I'm pretty sure I would squeal.

"So," he said, facing me, "now would you tell me who you are?"

I rolled my eyes, "why did you jump?"

"I didn't."

"I saw you."

"You didn't see me jump. I fell," he stated and I get pissed off.

"You could've died," I mumbled.

Alan chuckled, the sound-

Stop fangirling Livia.

Was this guy really going to suicide?

He motioned  me to get up and I reluctantly do so, because the floor was a lot more comfortable at the moment.

"Look below the railing."

I glanced down and felt my cheeks heat up. There was a balcony right below, where he would have fallen off if I had let go. That explains why he wasn't worried about dying and was asking me who I was.

And you called him an idiot. My brain reminded me of the fact I really didn't want to be reminded of.

"They made it to prevent accidents," Alan explained.

"But why did you-"

"Climb over the railing?" He interrupted, "my keys fell." He gestures to the black keys on the balcony.

"Oh." I smiled awkwardly.

Damn can the ground swallow me whole now?

"You could've gone through the floor below to get your keys," I said suspiciously, with whatever dignity I could muster,"why from here?"
