Chapter 8: Klaroline

"Its Bonfire season!" Rebekah exclaimed running towards Stefan and hugging him.

Things had developed very well between the two. Including everyone else. Esther was happy for her children, Mikael on the other hand was behaving like the devil's spawn. He had been harder on Klaus a lot, but hopefully since they were celebrating the end of Bonfire season things would be a whole lot cooler between the Mikaelson's.

"Father got me a new dress!" Rebekah cheered happily, she looked like an energizer bunny on crack. "Its the prettiest dress I have ever owned. Niklaus thinks that father is trying to buy my forgiveness because I have been cross with him for sometime. So how about you girls, what are you wearing?"

Caroline smiled. Seeing Rebekah so happy and carefree was so refreshing. "I actually made our dresses."

Rebekah's eyes widened. "You made your own dress? You can sew?"

"Yes. I really love designing so I went and found some material." Caroline giggled. "Bonnie just went to change into hers."

"Well how do I look?" Bonnie asked coming out of their hut.

Kol gasped. "Wow, you look amazing darling." Kol walked up to her and twirled her.

"Awww," Caroline swooned. "You guys are so adorable, I just want to eat you up."

"Please don't." Kol pleaded thinking she meant it.

Caroline rolled her eyes. "I was joking. Anyway has anyone seen Nick today? We were suppose to go to the lake today, but he never showed. I knew something was wrong because even when he's busy he makes sure to either come and tell me himself or send on of the younger ones."

"He got held up by mother, but he'll soon be on his way." Kol said.

"I hope he's okay." Caroline mumbled. "Well let me go change then we can get going to the festival." Caroline said.

Once they got to the town square, they found a nice and clean spot where they could setup. Caroline had knitted up a classic red and white picnic blanket. They had some berries, mangoes and a pumpkin pie Caroline had made, much to the Mikaelson family's delight. Bonnie had also made some orange juice for hydration.

Caroline cheered up when Klaus showed up. "There you are. Are you alright?"

"Yes, mother just gave me a small chore to do before I could come and join the festivities."

"Well I'm happy you're here now." Caroline cuddled up to him.

"Me too." Klaus said nuzzling her neck a little, much to Tatia's dismay.

"You know Caroline, Nik used to do this with me all the time." Tatia said deviously. "He liked to cuddle, but I wasn't much of a fan. I'm starting to regret not cherishing the moments though."

"I wonder what Elijah would say if he heard you right this moment." Caroline said bitterly. "Why are you even here, Elijah had to miss the festival's, surely you have other means of entertainment."

"Oh my Caroline I was only trying to give you some input perhaps it's Nik who needs to change his routine. One would think he was trying to get me back by doing things he knows would make me happy with another girl. Pardon me for assuming."

"Assumptions never help anyone." Caroline hissed watching Tatia waltz away. "I hate her so much, she is such a witch."

Bonnie gasped. "That is actually offensive."

Klaus chuckled. "You should pay her no mind Caroline, misery likes company. Come let us dance."

Caroline giggled as Klaus took her to the dancing area of the festival. Dancing with him again made her remember the night of the ball, the way he held her and the way they swayed to the music? Speaking as though they were the only two in the world.

"This is nice." Caroline whispered.

"Marry me." Klaus whispered back.

Caroline stopped her movements. "I beg your pardon?"

"I know it might be too soon, but you are the love of my life. You make me believe in those old tales of love at first sight. It might be selfish of me, but the idea of you going back to your time without making you mine, it makes me ache everywhere. I don't know how I am in your time considering you refuse to tell me, but I really hope you give us a chance perhaps you might be find similarities.

"Oh Nik." Caroline gasped hugging him. "I know it might be a bad idea, but I really want this for us, so yes I will go against my better judgment and marry you. I love you so much."

"I love you too."

They danced silently for a while before Klaus patience wore out and he dragged Caroline to his cabin. All of Caroline's ideas of keeping things simple for their remaining time in the past went out the window at that moment. It was just her and Klaus for now, she'd worry about everything else later.

So part one was about a our beloved Klaroline part 2 will be about Kennet part three Stebekah. Our crew are going back to the future soon but not without some drama. So on a final note until the New Year, Merry Christmas and a happy New year. 2019 here I come, here's to success.😃🍷
