Chapter 15

"I might have the answer to that." A voice said behind them causing them to jump.

"Elijah?" Klaus gasped. "You are back earlier than expected, and with a guest."

"This is Sophie Deveraux, a New Orleans witch who decided to venture far than ancestral magic. She will be helping us bring back Kol...for a price of course." Elijah explained.

"How are you certain we can trust her?" Klaus asked, always wary of new people.

"I think she's trust worthy," Caroline said from beside Klaus, remembering Ayanna's words to them before they left the past. "What is your price?"

"New Orleans needs to be set free. Everyone, humans, werewolves and witches are at the mercy of an old protege of yours, Marcel Gerard." Sophie explained. "Witches can no longer practice magic without being killed by Marcel's vamps, he has a weapon her name is Davina Claire. A couple of years ago, a ritual which I was no part of happened, it's known as the harvest ritual four young witches at sacrificed my niece was among the four. I seeks the help of Marcel to stop the ritual from happening, but we were too late. All the girls were sacrificed except for one, Davina. The power from the three girls now lives within Davina making her extremely powerful. She's now like a magic detector."

"But that's barbaric who would sacrifice innocent children?" Caroline explained appalled. All she could think of was someone doing that to her baby. "Klaus you have to help."

Klaus really hated how she could make him do anything with just one look. "So, Marcel survived and he thinks himself King of my city." Klaus said thoughtfully. "Alright, if you help bring Kol back to us we'll assist in the taking down of Marcel Gerard."

"Done." Sophie agreed. "All I want is for New Orleans to be a safe heaven once again for witches and for my niece to be brought back again."

"Wait what?" Caroline asked. "How are you going to accomplish that?"

"The witch elders say that once the ritual is complete and four girls die, massive power is returned to the ancestors who gift us with more magic. I want to hand them Davina, but I have no intention to return the power to the earth. I want hijack the ritual and bring all four girls back then get them out of New Orleans." Sophie explained.

"That's perfect." Caroline praised. "If you need help I have a friend, a Bennett witch, she's really powerful, Klaus can vouch for her."

Sophie smiled. This girl seemed to nice to be hanging around the originals. "It'll be greatly appreciated.  Kol can only be brought back in two days time, I need to gather up a few things. Elijah and Klaus if you could give me a vile of blood each that would be great."

"Alright." Elijah agreed. 

"I will live you all to talk." Sophie said.  "I saw a lodge in the town square, I'll check in there."

"Nonsense!" Caroline exclaimed. "I have a spare room at home, my mum won't mind having a visitor around."

"You are a life saver." Sophie said. "I wasn't sure how I was going to afford next months rent after spending some dollars in a motel."

"No problem." Caroline said. "It'll be nice having someone closer to my age in the house too." 

"Before you live we should discuss the reason why you can read each others minds." Elijah said diplomatically.

"Oh yes, what's up with that?" Caroline asked.

"Perhaps we should take this inside?" Klaus suggested.

They all agreed, packed everything up and went into the house. Once inside the house, Klaus pulled Caroline aside whilst Elijah led Sophie into the living room.
