The following morning, Stefan left the Mikaelson house and headed over to Caroline's house. He needed someone to talk to about his feelings for Rebekah and Caroline was the safest bet. He was a frequent guest at the Forbes house so he didn't bother knocking on the door. He found Caroline sitting in her small garden, a tub of cookies and cream ice cream sat on the table as she munched on it and read a romance novel.
"Morning." He greeted sitting next to her. "Eating ice cream in the morning are we?"
Caroline giggled. "I see you made it through the night without being staked, and also are you my mother?" She teased. "So how'd last night go?"
"It was really good, I'm feeling really good about finally moving on." Stefan smiled. "Am I doing the right thing by choosing Rebekah or am I being selfish? I mean we were together in the twenties, and I really want to fins that connection again, but I was a ripper back then with no care for anything but my thirst."
Caroline closed her book and focused her attention on Stefan. "Even though you were a ripper back then Stefan, you still managed to look over your bloodlust and you fell in love with Rebekah. Klaus told me about Chicago, he even told me you had asked her to marry you. Damon is going to go crazy when I tell him. My point is that if Rebekah is what you want go for it. I think we both deserve to live for ourselves now. Besides I really like the Stefan you become when you are around Rebekah, he's fun whereas when you were with Elena you always seemed like Edward Cullen to me, no offence."
Stefan laughed. "You are the only person I know who would actually say that. And I resent that statement, at list I don't look like I'm choking on a squirrel half the time. So exactly why are you eating ice cream at this time?"
Caroline grew solemn. "I text dumped Tyler. He's been with Hayley behind my back and to be honest I don't feel any zing when I'm with him anymore. He hasn't come around yet so I'm grateful for that. I'm happy that I'm giving Klaus and myself a try, but it still hurts you know?"
Stefan nodded, he felt bad for her. Caroline was the best person he knew, he was the sister that he never got to have and he was willing to die for her. She was even better that Lexi for him. He still loved Lexi, but Caroline really made him happy, he could be himself around her.
They sat in silence for a while just reflecting on the past two days. A few seconds later, Caroline's phone started buzzing, alerting her to a phone call.
"It's Bonnie," Caroline informed as she answered. "Hey Bon-Bon are you alright?"
"Caroline I need you help." Bonnie said frantically through the phone. "The expression, it's driving me crazy."
"Bonnie breathe and calm down, I'm with Stefan, we are on our way to your house right now." Caroline said calmly. "Do you want me to get Elena?"
"No!" Bonnie exclaimed. "I don't want to see her. You were right, we never should have messed with this whole Silas thing."
"Okay, give us twenty minute we'll be right there."
"Thanks Caroline." Bonnie said gratefully before hanging up.
"We need to go." Caroline said to Stefan. "I'll drive."
They got into Caroline's car and in no time there were at Bonnie's. Caroline opened the door and gasped, the house was a wreck. That was so unlike Bonnie, she was the neatest person she knew.
"Bonnie!" Caroline called running into the living room. She found Bonnie lying on the floor looking so defenseless, she looked like an exhausted puppy lacking malnutrition. "What's going on?"
"Its the darkness. It's trying to take over, but I won't let it, I feel like I'm being destroyed from my insides." Bonnie groaned. I'm trying to push it away, but it keeps pushing its way back. I feel really awful Care. I should have listened to you, I should have listened to Kol."
"What can we do?" Stefan asked. He'd grown fond of the temperamental witch.
"I'm trying to do a cleansing spell, but I'm so weak." Bonnie replied.
"Maybe you can channel us for power, if you're sure it'll work?." Caroline suggested.
"That's not a terrible idea. Stefan can you please get me some salt and candles from the kitchen?" Bonnie requested.
"Sure." Stefan said.
"Caroline please help me sit up and hand me my grimore?"
Caroline did as was requested and set everything up. Once they were done forming a circle with the salt, they entered the circle and Bonnie began chanting, but they knew something was wrong when the ground started to shake and the flames from the candles got stronger. It was chaos.
"Bonnie?" Caroline said fearfully. "Bonnie stop!"
But it was too late, there was a flash and everything went black.

Stefan slowly opened his eyes but shut them when the light hurt his eyes. He opened them again and looked around.
Where the hell was he? He knew he was in a forest, but how did he get there? Last he remembered was being in Bonnie's house.
"Caroline! Bonnie!" He called. "Okay you guys have had your fun now come out. Bonnie? Caroline?"
He spotted them lying unconscious on the ground. He tried to flash towards them, but he couldn't he only moved with human speed. It couldn't be possible, could it?
"Caroline, Bonnie! Guys please wake up." He pleaded.
They both moaned in pain and slowly started regaining consciousness.
"Bonnie are you sure that the spell you did was a cleansing spell?" Stefan asked when Bonnie got reoriented.
"Of course why?" Bonnie asked.
"Because we are in a forest alone and I'm human, my guess is so is Caroline." Stefan explained.
"The good news is that we're still in Mystic Falls." Caroline stated. "My father used to bring me to this spot when I was younger. Every time in spring this entire spot would be full of peach blossoms. We kept it between the two of us."
"Where did these dresses come from?" Bonnie suddenly exclaimed. "I look like I just walked straight out of The Other Boleyn Girl movie."
They looked upon themselves and realized they were way out of fashion. Stefan was wearing a cream shirt tied with a Brown belt and some trousers with boots. Whilst the girls were wearing long dresses that covered everything with the exception of their necks and faces.
"Rebekah showed me a picture Klaus once drew of his entire family, they were dressed in the same attire as we are." Stefan said. "I think we travelled back in time."
"Stefan that's ridiculous." Bonnie exclaimed
"Well Bonnie, please share if you have a better idea." Stefan said. "Look around, there are no modern day houses the forest actually looks like animals live here right now and no rave parties get thrown in them. It's like we are in the Amazon rain forest."
"Okay we all need to remain calm." Caroline said, being the anchor. "We need to figure out exactly what to do, and a place to stay, we can't live in a forest. First rule of time travel do not change anything. We need to find a place to stay whilst we are here, and then we need to find the Mikaelson's."
"Or they could find us." Bonnie said as she spotted Elijah, Klaus, Kol, and who she assumed was Finn. "Now what do we do?"
"Lie our asses off." Stefan said lowly so only the girls could hear. "Agree with everything I say you understand?"
Bonnie and Caroline nodded in agreement just the second the Mikaelsons finally spotted them.
"Time to put those drama classes we took when were younger to work Bonnie." Caroline stated.
