Emily's POV

I swallowed hard watching at the limo pulled up, near the sidewalk to my apartment.

My nerves were getting to me. It took us almost 3 hours to get home from snow and I still couldn't think of anything to tell Talia where I was the last 24 hours.

I know she's gonna have questions, I just don't know how I'm gonna answer them.

"You okay? You've been silent the entire ride", Alison points out as she sit across from me, as the limo comes to a full stop.

No.

"Yes."

"Thinking of what to tell your fiancé when she asks about your whereabouts?", she said as if she could read my mind.

"Knowing her she'll probably grill me like the criminals she brings in", I say rolling my eyes undoing my seat belt.

"Just tell her the truth", she says.
"Are you insane?"

A smirk appeared from her lips, "telling her the truth with save both you and I any trouble in the future", she explains.

"And what truth would that might be?", I asked her.

"That your leaving her for me", she says as if I'd ever.

I chuckle, causing her eyes to meet mine quickly. Her expression on her face scared me.

Oh god. She wasn't serious, was she?
"You aren't serious, are you?", I asked needing to know.

"What if I am", she responds giving me all enough to know she was serious.

She wasn't just insane, she was psychotic.
"T-that will never happen", I tell her letting her know right here, and right now.

"And why not?", she asked really determined.
"Because I love her. I mean— even if I did leave her, I could never leave her for someone who wouldn't be able to love me back", I say referring to her.

"I don't like sharing Miss Fields"

"Well you can't want your cake and eat it too, now can you, Alison"

Her eyes scold me as if she had never been spoken to in such a matter.

Which is probably true. I'm pretty sure no one has ever put Alison in her place. Everyone was either scared of her. But me? Alison doesn't scare shit.

She wanted an answer and I gave it too her.

"And it's emily. Not Miss Fields. Just- Emily", I snap getting tired of that proper shit, it was quite annoying.

"Emil— I cut her off before she could finish.
"You were the one who said you don't do romance, remember?"

"Yes but..."

"But nothing. You don't do the relationship thing, right?. Meaning your incapable of loving me, regardless if I love you or not. Which I don't. So having this conversation is very pointless, because you don't like the idea— no the thought of loving someone", I snap.

She lets out a sigh, realizing I was upset. I was.
Not directly at Alison herself but just everything right now.

"Your upset", she says sensing my anger towards everything going on right now.

"No", I breathe sarcastically.

"I'm sorry if offended you"

"You didn't— you're just really confusing, that's all"

She leans towards me using her knees to balance herself.

"What's confusing you?", she asked as if I didn't just say.
