I quickly and nervously follow behind Joseph as we walked down the cold and darkish hallway of the hospital.

My heart pounded, I couldn't help but worry about her, worrying if something happened. Like what if she's in a coma or something, what if she got a concussion or something... what if she doesn't remember me.

"oh god" the voice brought me out my thoughts causing me to look up to notice familiar faces. Standing with tears falling from her eyes was Alison's mom, Veronica. Holding her, comforting her was Jason.

"Ms. Dilaurentis" Joseph says announcing our appearance, they turn to both Joseph and I. I look to notice we were standing by a door, "w-what happened? Is she okay?" I asked approaching them.

Veronica hesitated before breaking down causing me to panic, I breathed heavily approaching the room. I inhaled and exhaled trying to calm myself down and prepare myself for whatever I was about to see.

I reach to turn the handle to open the door when I was stopped, Joseph grabbed my arm preventing me from opening the door causing me to turn and look at him.

"What are you doing?"

"There's something you should know before you her..." he trails off before letting me go. He exhaled deeply looking at Alison's family before back at me.

"This was a premeditated attack, Miss Fields" He continues.

Premeditated. The word itself scared me.

"a-are you saying Alison was targeted? That it wasn't an accident?" I ask him seriously.

He sighs before pulling me away from the door and further away from the door.

"I was informed not to tell you this but seeing the circumstances we are in, I have no choice to do so.  When Ms. Dilaurentis left you in Hawaii, her intentions was to keep you safe. In doing so, she forget that also needed to be kept safe. She had been getting death threats and weird phone calls" he explains.

I knew that she left to keep me safe because of what she did but I didn't think she was serious about people going after her.

I exhaled trying to process all this information, "did you find out whose doing all this?" I ask him. He looks away and shake his head causing me sigh nervously.

"These past couple of days since you left hasn't been easier for Ms. Dilaurentis. She won't eat. Nights she can't sleep."

And here I thought I was only one having a bad time. Then it occurred maybe this was all my fault. If- i wouldn't have left her things wouldn't be like this.

If I just told her sooner that Vince was my boss she wouldn't have-

"I-is she okay?" My voice cracks.

"We won't know until the morning because she lost a lot of blood. But the doctor did say the surgery went well. She's just resting now..." he trails off.

I ran my fingers through my hair, "why is this happening right now?" I asked him trying to still grasp this situation.

Literally someone tried to kill Alison and almost succeeded. And— didn't even know because I was too busy trying to forget her.

"I understand completely how you feel with everything going on but for the sake of her.... if you truly do love her... like I recall you saying you do. Please, Miss Fields... forgive her." He tells me making eye contact with her.

Forgive her. Those words seemed easier said then done.

I turn back to Veronica who was crying her heart out , "who would do something like this to her? I mean she's a good person, Jason. Your sister didn't deserve this. After everything that poor child's been through, she can never catch a break."
