YOO SOYEON
"Are you stupid? What is that brain for?"She yelled, pushing my head with her finger as she throw the marked paper towards the ground. "95 out of 100? You never came near to perfect as your other siblings!"
I never dare to look up at her, she was my mom. But ever since she married to another man and dragged me with her, she turned into a living devil.
"You are not allowed to hang out with your friends for a week, I'm scheduling you with a private tutor."She scoffed, taking her phone out and dialing a number on her phone, bringing it up towards her ear. "Such a living piece of trash, how dare she stepped into the house with that grades."Her muffled voice rang throughout the empty house as she made her way towards her bedroom, slamming the door shut.
It wasn't the first time or the second time she did this. Hell, this has happened at least over 100 times at this point.
I bent down, grabbing the pile of papers on the floor before making my way up towards the stairs as if nothing happened. I walked inside my room and throw the test papers on a nearby trash can. I took my phone out of my pocket, throwing it somewhere around my room and laying down on the bed.
I stare blankly at the ceilings as the sound of the clock ticking filled my ears. I slowly closed my eyes and drift off.
The knocking on the door woke me up suddenly. I look around the dark room and reach my hand out towards the nightstand, flicking on the lights. The knocking continues and I sigh, walking towards the door, opening it.
"Soyeon-ah, can you go to the supermarket and buy me some food? My friends are coming over."Yugyeom said, handing me his credit card and I nod, taking it away from his hand. "Thank you Soyeon-ah, don't take too long."He said patting my head lightly and walking back towards the door, closing it behind him.
I started to get ready, changing out of my school uniform into a more casual outfit before leaving my room with his card on my hand and my phone in my pocket. I slid on my shoes, leaving my house and start walking toward the nearest supermarket. It was around 9 at night before it started to drizzle lightly. I quicken my steps and put my hands above my head. I rushed inside the store and the bell dings, announcing my arrival.
"Good evening, enjoy your shop here."The bored worker said tiredly and lazily. I give him a small smile before grabbing a basket and walking towards where the snacks and drinks are. Once the basket was almost filled up, I make my way towards the register.
"Is this everything?"The cashier asked. The man in front of me took out his money and giving it towards the cashier as an answer. He turned around swiftly, looking around and his eyes met mine. I widen my eyes and give him a small smile. He stares at me blankly before grabbing the change along with his bottled drinks.
I put my basket up and looked at his plastic to see a few bottles of soju and a few packs of cigarettes.
Kim Doyoung, you're not as innocent as everyone says you are.

"Soyeon, be good in school today."My stepdad said and I smiled, thanking him before walking out of the car. I walk with a small smile on my face as a few students greet me. "Yoo Soyeon! You're ignoring me now?"Lucas says, walking beside me. "No, I just didn't see you there."I said with a teasing smile and a flick landed on my forehead. I wince and hit his shoulder. "How could you not see me with this height?!"He said and I rolled my eyes.
"Have you heard about that Chittaphon kid? Youngheum?"He said and I nod, walking beside him. "He was caught smoking in the school bathroom after school. You should've seen how Taemin yelled and threw him out of the group."Lucas said as we both entered the classroom.
"He's out of the group? But he was one of the best dancers there."I said walking towards my seat. "I know, Taemin just three him out of the group right in front of the counselor."He continued, taking his seat beside me.
Youngheum was known for his dance skill in school. He may be a bit of trouble but everyone knows him and quite a lot of girls worship him whenever they got the chance. He placed first two times throughout the Gangnam district.
"I know right? Complete madness."Lucas started to talk on another topic but I stopped listening to him once Doyoung walked inside the class with a smile on his face. He was the smartest kid in class, teachers always choose him to come up and solve the problems. His eyes met mine and I could see his lips turns into a small smirk before looking away from me.
"Soyeon, yah Yoo Soyeon are you not listening to me again?"Lucas said, waving his hands in front of me and I looked at him. "Sorry I was distracted."I said, with a smile tugging on my lips. Before he could continue, the teacher came in and the class starts.

Ding!
Mom: tutoring today. I won't pick you up, I have work.
I shoved in my phone and look around for Lucas. I saw him playing with his friends and I walk towards him. "Hey, do you have plans after school?"I asked him once he bid his goodbyes to his friends. He shook his head, "No, what's up?"He asked. "Could you please drop me off again? I have tutoring today."I said and he nod, chuckling. "Sure, let's go!"He said, grabbing his bag before leaving towards where his car is parked.
"She's mad again?"He spoke up once we're inside his car and I nod. "When is she isn't?"I asked with a chuckle and he chuckle quietly. "Will you be okay?"He asked and I stayed silent for a while. "I'll be fine."I said with a smile and he glanced at me. "Tell me when you're done, I'll pick you up."He said, parking in front of the building. "Of course, you're the only one I can rely on."I joked and he laughed. "Hang in there, it'll get better."He said patting my head and I thanked him before leaving the car.

"Do you want me to take you home?"Haejin asked, leaning in close to me as I was tidying up my supplies. "N—no, my friend's picking me up."I said, hoping to get him away. "Are they here?"He asked, reaching his hand towards my hair, stroking it.
"Yes—"
"Soyeon-ah! What took you so long?"
The teacher immediately scoots away from me and cleared his throat. "She was just tidying up."He said and Lucas ignored him. "Let's go."He said, grabbing my books and bag. He let me walked out first and bowed down towards Haejin. "See you Soyeon-ah, we'll start with another chapter tomorrow!"Haejin said and I nod curtly. We both left the building and Lucas opened the door for me.
Once we're both inside his car, he turned towards me. "You okay?"He asked and I nod, giving him a grin. "Yeah, I'm just tired."I said, leaning my head back. "Alright, I've told your brother that I'm picking you up."He said, starting the car. "Thank you."I said as he leave the parking lot.
"Geez, it's dark out here at night"Lucas mumbled and I looked out of the window. "Those people looked dangerous."I said, looking at a crowd inside an alleyway.
"They probably are, I'm sorry to say this but your mom is crazy if she ever let you walk alone at 10 PM"Lucas said and I chuckle, silently agreeing with him.
"Thank you for the ride! I'll see you in school tomorrow."I said, getting off from his car. "Don't sleep too late."He said, waving both of his hands towards me and I laughed, waving him off. I walked inside the house and he drove off.
"I'm home,"I muttered, taking my shoes off before walking towards the kitchen. The table was empty, there isn't any food on the table except some sealed crackers that is labled with my brothers name only. I glance towards the sink and saw a mount of dishes. A chuckle left my lips and I placed my bag on top of the empty table, heaving out a breath.
"They don't left me anything but dishes to wash."I said, rolling up my sleeves and starting to wash the dishes.
