3 weeks later
YOO SOYEON

I tapped my pencil on my book as I read the question again. My mind was everywhere and I can't seem to focus.

I have been pretty successful avoiding the three. I ignore both Ten and Doyoung at school and I also ignored Jaehyun's texts. I do know that he's out of the hospital a week ago since he text me that he probably needed help on his homework.

"Soyeon-ah! Dinner!"My mom yelled sweetly. I furrowed my eyebrows before placing my pencil on top of my opened book. "What's with her today?"I muttered, walking out of my room and down the stairs. My eyes landed on my whole family sitting at the dinner table with Mr. Jung, his wife and of course, Jung Jaehyum himself.

This dinner is a bit unplanned.

"Ah, Soyeon! How was your shoulder? Is it better now?"Mrs. Jung asked and I smiled. "Yes it is! I felt a lot better now."I answered with a smile and proceed to sit myself beside Yugyeom. The parents sat in front of each other while they let the kids sit with each other, as the usual. I avoid Jaehyun's eye and grab my own food.

Once the parents started to eat their food, I also dig in. "How was school, kids?"Mr. Jung asked. "It's not that bad."Yugyeom answered. "Any girlfriends?"Mr. Jung teased and we all let out a small laugh. "Not yet, Mr. Jung."Jungwoo said. "But you guys are at that age! Did Mr. Kim forbid you?"Mr. Jung asked, patting my step-dad's back and laugh.

"We truly apologize for what happened to your precious daughter. I gave Jaehyun a strict talk about that."Mrs. Jung said, setting down her silverware on her hand, her face shows pure regret. "Oh it's totally fine. We should be thanking your son for doing what he did towards Soyeon."My mom said with a smile. I look down at my food and eats it slowly.

"How was your school Jaehyun?"My mom asked. "If you need help with your school works you can drop in anytime and ask Soyeon! She's a smart kid."My mom said and I looked up, a small smile on my face. Jaehyun glanced at me before nodding with a smile on his face. "I definitely will! She told me that she can help with my school work when she was visiting."Jaehyun explained and I could honestly feel my mom glaring at me after hearing that came out of Jaehyun's mouth.

"Leave the door open for a bit!"My mom yelled behind me. They told me to help Jaehyun on his school work right after I finished washing the dishes. Jaehyun just agreed on the idea easily, eagerly helping me with the dishes and followed me up the stairs towards my room.

"Were you doing your homework?"He asked, closing the door and leaving a slight creak. "No. You can sit there."I said and he sit down at the edge of my bed. "What subject do you need help with?"I asked, not looking at him. "Do you need computers? I have some blank papers for you to scribble on."I said, putting my books away so he can use my computer.

"Soyeon,"He said, gently grabbing my arm. I stopped and he tried to look at my face. "Why are you avoiding me?"He asked and I stayed silent. "I guess Doyoung told you, right?"He said, realizing what the look on my face meant and I still doesn't say anything. He lets out a sigh and letting go of my arm. "You— we can never hurt you."Jaehyun said and I looked at him. "But that's not what I was scared of."I said quietly.

"Then what?"He asked, looking at me. "It horrifies me thinking about how many lives you've took. It haunts me that it could also happen to me. If not by you, then it's by those people you surround yourself with."I said. "So that's why you avoid me, why you avoid the three of us."He states. "You do know that we can't just quit what we're doing, right?"He asked. "I'm well aware of that. That's why I avoid everything."I said and he sighs.

"You have to know that we can't possibly leave you alone."He said and I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "Why not?"I asked. "About what happened at the hospital. That might've put you on a possible target to abduct."He said and I could feel my heart stopped for a second. "Even if we took care of them, after all of this are done. Everyone would already know that you're close with us and you'd be a fresh new target"He said. "We've lived with a target behind our backs. That's just how our life is now."He continued.
