The Equinox dance arrived sooner than anyone had anticipated, at least for the Senior Dhampirs who were all going crazy with their training knowing that after winter vacations the Dhampir Trials would be coming up, the Morois, however, had been looking forward to it.
Unfortunately for Viktoria Belikova though, she had become an unfortunate target of Mia Rinaldi and her two cronies, despite the fact that Aaron was now only paying attention to her and not caring about Lissa anymore.
And this was because Mia had felt humiliated by Kate, when she'd intervened with Mia taunting Lissa, the day of their arrival, and while she had been jealous of Aaron's still lingering affections for Lissa, Mia couldn't handle the fact that Kate had stepped in and humiliated her, and interrupted every attempt to humiliate Kate.
And because Mia knew that she would never be able to reach Kate or actually hurt her, so she decided to attack someone that Kate was protective about, which the current opening that Mia knew of, was Viktoria Belikova.
Who seemed to run away from every guy around, with the exception of Christian Ozera and Mason Ashford, as well as some of the Promised Guardians. Who wore turtlenecks or scarves, who refused to be paired with male students. Meaning that Viktoria was the weakest link.
Jesse Zeklos and Ralf Sarcozy, being Mia's minions for the most part, kept trying to get close to Viktoria, keep flirting and trying to be touchy, regardless of the fact that Kate, Mason, Christian and Lissa intervene and stop them. They try to understand the reason that Viktoria is so scared of the male Moroi population of the Academy.
Mia didn't care that Viktoria was innocent, she didn't care that Viktoria wasn't involved with Kate and Lissa in the beginning, Mia only wanted revenge. Revenge for losing all of her popular friends, revenge for being humiliated.
"Don't you think it's a little much?" Aaron asked his girlfriend, Lissa's compulsion having ended after Kate discovered what Lissa had done. Although Aaron continued dating Mia, because, despite his conflicting feelings for Lissa, Aaron had come to fall in love with the small blonde.
Mia turned to him, she'd been finishing her homework, because the perfectionist in her paralyzed her from having fun before everything was done, at least academically wise. It wasn't that Mia was a perfectionist in other areas of her life, but rather, that she wanted to prove to people that despite the fact that she was a non-Royal Moroi, she was every bit as talented as a Royal Moroi, aka her current boyfriend, Lord Aaron Drozdov, only heir to Prince Drozdov, and her ex-fling, Lord Andre Dragomir, the heir to Prince Dragomir.
"Your ex-girlfriend compelled every single one of our friends to turn against me, compelled you to stay in a relationship with me-" Mia began to rant, everything that Aaron knew already too well.
