The One That Can't be Missed

Chapter 15

I wake up early the next day around 8 am, I usually don't get up that early, but I was worried about meeting Vanessa. I grab my phone and call Anzhelika.

"Hello,"

"Hey, I'm glad your up," I say

"Well now I am, why are you up so early,"

"Ugh, I'm nervous -"

"Ok, well I'm going back to sleep,"

"Anzhelika," I whine, but she hangs up. I go to the restroom and take a shower. I go eat then brush my teeth.  Its around 9 o'clock, I decide to practice some of my magic. I practice levitating a cup, and I did it. I practiced turning an apple into a pineapple. I made a sandwich and made it disappear. Eventually, I get tired, so I rest up. I get up later and take a ride toward, Crushers Ave. I text Anzhelika, but doesn't respond, she probably still asleep. I park my car in front of a cafe, I walk around. Walk Straight says a voice in my head.

"What?"

Walk straight, says the voice. Should I walk straight or turn around. Walk straight. I walk straight and turn the corner into an alley. I see Vanessa, in a pink shirt with blue skinny jeans. I stand there with my hands in my pockets.

"Where's your side kick?" she says

"She's not my side kick. Why did you want to meet me?"

"There is someone you know and they want to destroy you,"

"Who?"

"Its someone, you knew for awhile."

"You mean Anzhelika?"

"Be careful who you trust,"

"Ok, ya but who?" I say.

Fog surrounds her and the last thing she says is Be Careful.

I walk back to the cafe shop and order a cup of cafe. I think about all the things she said. Could she be talking about Anzhelika. Nah, it couldn't possibly be her. She's nice and kind, and has been my best friend forever. I know her better than anyone. I walk across the cafe shop, into a book store, and buy a book. I read inside my car, trying to take my mind off Vanessa. I get text messages from Anzhelika here and there, but I ignore them. I get a knock on my window, and it startles me. I see Antonio, and roll down the window.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" I say

"Im here ordering a cheesecake. You?"

"Um you know reading," I smile.

"Do you want to come in and share a  cheese cake,"

I nod, like a goof ball. We walk inside and have a great time, he makes me laugh. I start to smell rose pedals. Then wind flows through my hair. The wind gets stronger and stronger.  It blows us away from our chairs. The place gets trashed. I get super scared and grab Antonio's hand.  He pulls me into a hug, in a corner.
