Jim's POV:
(Written by @Kodbro)
Christmas Special (Part 2):
Oh boy. How was I going to explain all of this to them? My grandparents. They didn't even know what a troll looked liked. This was going to be difficult. Then again, my grandparents were the last people I expected to see tonight.
"You are not our grandson!" My grandma said, my grandfather pointing out his stick at me in warning. "You don't even sound like him-"
"Well, I have changed okay? I've grown up. This is my new life now whether you approve of it or not. Disown me. Whatever. I'm still Jim," I said back.
When I looked back at them, my grandma looked like she wanted to faint. As for my grandpa, he was still wary of me. "Mom?" I asked.
She understood what I was trying to tell her. "Mom?" She asked my grandma. "Dad. Please don't freak out. I can explain all of this if you just come with me to the kitchen. Let me make you some tea while you put the presents down on the coffee table."
I suddenly felt very self conscious of myself right then. Of what I looked like in front of my family. So before anyone could stop me, I was upstairs before I realised myself where I was.
"Young Atlas," Strickler said, which I ignored.
My bedroom where nothing had been touched or moved. It was almost as if my mom was still expecting me to come back one day. Even though she had accepted me for who I was.
Suddenly I felt anger begin to brew inside of me. Anger at the choice I made of Becoming a troll. Out of frustration, I wiped one of my books clean off my desk only to stop suddenly after to look out the window where I could see Toby's house staring back at me.
Why did I ever listen to that stupid Wizard...?
"Jim?" Claire asked. However, I didn't turn around. "I know you're probably angry right now, but-"
"Angry doesn't even begin to describe how I'm feeling right now, Claire," I said. Then noticed my tone of voice and softened it a little. Taking a deep breath as I did. "Sorry," I said. "I know I say that all the time, but-"
It was her kiss that cut me off. Standing up on her tiptoes she wrapped her arms around me and kissed me. The last thing I expected from everything that had just happened. I kissed her back.
"What was that for?" I asked.
"Everything," she said.
Everything was perfect right then until we heard shouts coming from down below. "HOW COULD YOU LET HIM DO THIS?" came my grandma's voice from downstairs. "I THOUGHT WE TAUGHT YOU BETTER THAN THIS BARBARA LAKE."
"Jim. Claire," Toby asked us from my bedroom door. We looked at him out of confusion. "Thank goodness you're both still here because we've got a problem."
"What kind of problem?" I asked.
"I can't tell for sure. All I know is that like the pixies, everyone is going crazytown banana pants again! We need you, Jim," he explained.
That was all that it took for me and Claire to go rushing down after him. And sure enough, Toby was right.
The only difference between the pixies and this, was that instead of going crazy, people were turning against each other. For example, it was my grandma versus my mom, Strickler versus Numora. NotEnrique versus my grandad which under different circumstances would have looked rather funny, Steve versus Eli.
"You bullied me for years!" Eli shouted, trying to dodge a punch from Steve, but failing. "If it wasn't for me, you probably would not be here right now and we would not be friends-"
"Friends! Friends, Butsnack? Do you think I care. Steve Palchuck. The King of Arcadia Oaks High-"
"Hey turd. In case you have forgot, it's your dad who is the one that's behind all of this!" came Darci while she and Mary were in the middle of a girl fight.
Staring at all of them, I thought, this is going to be a one of a kind Christmas.
"You always have to be better at everything!" Mary yelled at Darci. "Darci this. Darci that. Miss oh so perfect. Miss oh so clever. Miss oh so prom Queen. And I decided to be friends with you?"
Darci slapped her across the cheek right then. I saw Mary fall back in shock. "Did you...?" She asked. "Did you just slap me?"
"Indeed I did," Darci said. "And never mind being miss oh so perfect. How do you think I feel with having to listen to all of your gossip everyday?"
Okay. Time to figure out what's going on here. That's when I saw the presents from my grandparents still lying on the coffee table only except they were open.
"Oh no," I said.
"Jim, what is it?" Claire asked me.
"The presents. Something has escaped from them."
"And that something is me," a tiny voice came from behind me.
I turned just in time to see a fuzz ball of glowing gold rushing it's way towards me. And for such a small package, it made one mighty kick that knocked me down and over the coffee table.
Then it laughed in its soft silvery laugh. "Fairies!" Strickler cried.
"Fairies?" Claire asked. "But I thought Blinky said that they hadn't been around for millenia."
"Never mind that," I said through all the mayhem in our house. "Strickler. How do I kill it?"
"Well, capturing it is the first step," he said.
"Then?"
"You have to tell them that you don't believe in them."
That didn't sound that hard, right? Boy, was I wrong. Whipping out Eclipse, I started throwing myself all around the house to try and find the blasted creature before it could corrupt this family forever or door any permanent damage.
"Wheeeeeeee!" A loud singing voice suddenly said, zapping past my ear so fast that I could hardly see it.
The only reason I managed to capture it was by using my boomerang blades which I used to trap it against the wall by the stairs.
"Fun time is over, Fairy. Enough games. Now who sent you and why?" I asked, more impatient than angry.
However, the Fairy only smiled. And in its tiny glowing form, my blades looked deadly sharp against its delicate-looking skin. "You know who, James Lake Junior," was all it said.
I was beyond angry to ask him anything else. "I don't believe in Fairies," I said.
For a moment nothing happened. Then he just began glowing brighter and brighter until I couldn't look at him anymore and put up shield before me before it could burst into Fairy Dust that rained down on top of me.
After that outburst, the arguments ceased, causing me to take down my shield. Was that really all it took for everything to stop? I'm guessing it was...
