*Peter's POV*

"Okay. That's it for today." I said putting my textbook away. "Okay, uh, our teacher said we should study all week because the test is Friday." Ruby suggested. I sighed. I really didn't want to. "Alright. Meet me at the library tomorrow after school." I said standing up from the library table. "Okay. I'll see you later." she smiled at me and left the library.

Walking down the hall I felt my phone ring in my pocket and hoping it was Riley pulled it out. I looked at the Caller ID and saw it was my dad. Hesitantly I answered it. "Hello?" I said. "Peter?" he asked. "Yes?" I replied. "I miss you." he said. "I'm not coming back. I told you." I said angrily.

"Is it that girl holding you back?" He snarled. "I've seen you walking around town with her. Peter, you're mine. No one else's." "Listen. I don't want to live with you. And stop stalking me and Riley. Cause I swear if you hurt her I'm gonna kill you." I said hanging up the phone.

Putting my phone in my pocket I walked out the school. Walking home it began to rain. Life couldn't be any better. I felt my phone buzz and I pulled it out to see Hunter had texted me. He was asking if I was going to school tomorrow.

Texting him back I ran into someone. "Oh sorry." I said looking up. As I looked up I saw a man in black. Suddenly his fist went flying at my face. Dropping my phone he kept punching me.

It went on for a few minutes and I could fight back. I was on the floor when the guy ran away. My body hurt everywhere and I could feel blood on my lip. Grabbing my phone I called Hunter. "Hello?" he said picking up immediately. "Hunter." I coughed. "You sound awful." he joked.

"Hunter, I'm serious. Someone just beat me up and I can't move." I said coughing. "What? Where are you?" He asked turning serious. "I'm by the school. My head hurts." I said wincing from the pain. "Okay. I'm on my way. Just don't move." He said hanging up. I put my phone on the ground next to me and I passed out.

"Peter...Peter." I felt someone shake my arm. "What?" I asked turning over. I was in my room and Hunter was standing beside me. "Are you okay? Who did this to you?" he asked. "I don't know." I said. "Do you need a doctor?" he asked. I shook my head no. "Okay. Uh have some water." He said holding a cup. I winced as I sat up and leaned against the headboard.

He gave me the cup and I drank from it. "Do you need anything?" he said taking the cup from me and putting it on the desk. "No. Uh what time is it?" I asked. He checked it phone. "4:45." "Alright. Did you get my phone?" I asked. "Yeah." He said getting it from the desk and giving it to me.

I was going to call Riley and tell her what happened but then I figured she would be hanging out with Elijah right now. "Uh, does anything hurt?" Hunter asked. "My legs hurt and I think my bruises got worse." I said. "Let me see." he said. I took off my sweater and shirt and tried to stand up. Pain shot through my body and I sat down immediately.

"I can't stand. My legs hurt too much." I said. "Okay. But your bruises definitely got worse. I should get you some medicine." He said leaving the room. "Okay." I called after him. I sat back on my bed and pulled up the camera on my phone to check my face.

I had a bruise on my cheek and my eyebrow was bleeding. I sighed as my body was in pain. "So who do you think could've done it?" Hunter asked as he walked back in the room with the medicine. "I don't know. But honestly I just want to forget about it." I said as I took the medicine.

"Okay. I'm gonna go to my room. Call me if you need anything." Hunter said. "Alright." I said as he left. I then went scrolling through my phone until my phone rang. Seeing it was Riley I answered immediately. "Hey." I said into the phone. "Hey. How's your day?" she asked. I hesitated a bit. "Good." I lied.

"Can we hang out tomorrow?" She asked. "Um sorry. I'm kind of tutoring Ruby all week." I said sadly. "Oh, that's okay. Maybe next week. And we always have lunch." She sighed. I could hear the sadness in her voice.

"How's your day been?" I asked. "It was good. Elijah and I hung out around town. He's really funny." She said giggling a little. It hurt me a bit to know that she was hanging out with him. "Are you gonna hang out with him tomorrow?" I said. "If he wants to." She replied. I could hear her smile over the phone. "I gotta go." I said. "Okay. See you tomorrow then?" She said. "Yeah." I hung up the phone.

I groaned. I was mad. I'm mad that my dad treated me this way, I'm mad that my body's in pain and I'm especially mad about the fact that the girl I like keeps hanging out with another guy! Getting frustrated, I threw my phone at the wall in front of me.

She's not worth it.
