*Riley's POV*
I could tell he was confused. I was confused but mostly scared. Everything flashed before my eyes. I saw his dad draw the gun at Peter's words. I saw how there was pain and sadness in his eyes as his dad pulled the trigger. I knew it hurt him. It hurt him bad. Now he would never get a chance to say sorry.
I sat in the waiting room of the hospital. Peter had passed out on the floor next to the building. A lady came out and saw the incident and she called the ambulance immediately. They had took him into surgery and I was waiting here for an hour. Now I was waiting to see Peter and my parents were coming.
"Riley." I turned my head and saw my dad and mom. "Mom, Dad." I said standing up and running into their arms. "Baby, what happened?" my mom said. I explained to them what happened and halfway through I broke down crying. "When can we see him?" my dad asked. "In a few minutes. They should be coming out now." I said looking towards the door.
We waited a few minutes until we could go see him. He was in room 45. I walked into the room and he was laying on the hospital bed. His face was pale and the monitor was beeping slowly. I felt tears slide down my face as I stood next to him. "He'll be fine." My mom said kissing the crown of my head.
"I just stood there, mom. I didn't even do anything!" I cried more. "There was nothing you could do." My dad said hugging me. Suddenly, a lady who looked exactly like Peter and a little girl came in the room. The little girl had brown hair that reached below her shoulders. She had the same brown eyes as Peter.
"Is he okay?" The lady asked. "He's fine But who are you?" I said curiously at the lady. "I'm his mom, Rachel, and this is his younger sister Daisy." Rachel said.
His mom and sister?
"You're his mom?" I choked out. "Yes. Who are you?" Rachel asked. I noticed how the little girl was standing behind her. "I'm Riley. Peter's gir-his friend." I stuttered. "Do you know when he'll wake up? I haven't seen him in so long." she cried.
"He'll be fine. We're not sure when he'll wake up. We haven't seen the doctor yet." My mom said calming Rachel down. "What happened?" she asked. "I got a call saying he was here." "H-He was shot." I mumbled.
"By who?" Rachel asked quickly. "By his dad. They were arguing and he shot him but Peter shot him too and-" "That bastard!" she said cutting me off.
"Is everything okay?" My mom asked. "Well not really." Rachel looked down at Daisy. "Sweetie, you want to go and get me something from the vending machine?" Rachel gave the girl a 20 and she left the room.
"Is everything alright?" I asked. "When Peter was young his dad began abusing the rest of us and I couldn't take it anymore. So I left but I made the stupid decision to just take Daisy and I regret it so much because I thought Peter would end up just like his dad." Rachel explained.
"You guys were abused?" My dad asked and Rachel nodded. "Riley, did you know?" My mom said. I nodded and felt a tear slide down my face. "How was he doing?" Rachel asked.
"It got worse. His dad wasn't just abusing him he was forcing him to have sex with him and whenever he refused his dad would beat him." I said as tears flowed down my face. "Oh my!" Rachel cried as pain struck through her eyes. "What's he like? I haven't talk to him in forever." Rachel asked.
I thought about it for a moment. "He's sweet and really nice and he would do anything for me and my friends. But he can get jealous sometimes and in all honesty it's really cute. And whenever we'd hang out we would have the best time and if I'm not with him he would check up on me and he's just overall a really good guy..." I trailed as I felt a smile on my lips.
