*Riley's POV*
"Best friends, huh?" Beverly smirked. I stood confused as Peter had called me babe and said he loved me. "I promise you he's never done that. And yes we are friends. The bestest actually." I pointed.
"You seem very close." Beverly said. "As that's where the bestest comes from." I grinned. "You're such a dork." she laughed. "So what class do you have?" I asked. "Science." she groaned. "Really? With who?" I said excitedly.
"Lacrosse." she said. "We have the same class!" I gasped. She laughed at my hyperness. "We should get going. We don't want to be late." Beverly said. I nodded as we began walking to our next class.
We arrived just before the bell rang and we took a seat in the back. "Alright, now that everyone is here. We can get started. You will be continuing your assignment from Friday. I have some grading to do. So please try not to disturb me." Mr. Lacrosse said sitting at his desk.
"What assignment?" Beverly asked. "Oh. We were doing a worksheet but you don't have to worry since you're new and all." I explained. "Cool beans. Are you finished?" she asked. "Yeah. It wasn't really that hard." I said. "So tell me more about the school." Beverly said.
"Well, we are more known for more fights and stuff but apparently Collins High is the better school. But if anything I'd definitely take Palmdale over Collins anyday." I said. "Anyone else I should meet?" she said.
"Well you meet my friends Peter, Alyssa and Emily but you still need to meet Ethan, Kevin, Sadie and Tracy. And you can meet them at lunch." I recalled.
"Oh and I wouldn't date Ethan or Kevin. Kevin is technically together with Emily but it's not official and same with Ethan and Tracy." I said.
"Are you and Peter not officially together?" she smirked. "Nothing is going on between Peter and I. We are just very good friends." I defended.
"He sure didn't make it seem that way. I mean he did call you babe." Beverly smiled. "He's just being weird. Peter's always like that." I said waving her off.
"So you're not dating Peter?" she said raising her eyebrow. I nodded. "Oh, Elijah wanted to know if you, me and him wanted to hang out. You know, show us around town?" she asked. "Definitely." I smiled.

It was now the end of school and I was talking to Elijah by my locker when Beverly came up to us. "Guys, I'm so sorry. I forgot I needed to get help from my math teacher after school today." she said sadly.
"It's okay, Bev. We can hang out another time." I suggested. "No, it's fine. You can show Eli around. I can hang out another time." she said. "Okay." I nodded. "Well, I have to go. I'll see you guys later." she waved as she left.
"Hey, I need to get something from my science class." Elijah said. "Alright, let's go." I said as he led me to his science class. As we were walking I realized he had the same class as Peter. Standing outside the door to the class I saw Peter at his locker so I went over to him.
"Hey." I said. "Oh. hey." he smiled. "I'm going to show Elijah around town right now. Want to come?" I asked him. "Uh, sorry I can't. My stupid science teacher wants me to tutor Ruby." he sighed. I felt a bit of anger bubble in my body.
"That's okay. We can hang out tomorrow." I suggested. "Yeah. If only my science teacher won't schedule another tutoring." Peter rolled his eyes. I laughed.
"Riley, I'm ready." I heard Elijah say. I turned to him. "Cool. Let's go. I'll see you tomorrow?" I asked as I turned to Peter. He nodded his head and shut his locker. "Bye." he said bluntly as he walked away. Something felt off about the way he said it but I chose to ignore it.

"...And then she fell." Elijah said. I laughed as he finished the story of him and his sister racing to their mom's car this morning. Once I could breathe again I noticed we were at Collins High School. "And here is Collins High School." I said guestering. "Pretty nice school." he said.
"It's okay. Oh and here's the ice cream parlor." I said pointing. "Want to get some ice cream?" I asked. "Sure." He said. We walked into the place and ordered some ice cream and sat down.
"Okay, what's your favorite movie?" I asked him. "Definitely Black Panther." he nodded. "Sick. Mine's The Parent Trap." I said. "Uh, favorite animal?" he asked.
"A dog. You?" I said. "Polar Bear. All the way." he smiled. "Favorite artist in music?" I asked. "Drake. Totally Drake. How about you?" he said.
"James Arthur." I thought. "Now what do you put on first? The peanut butter or the jelly?" I asked him.
"Jelly." he nodded. "Finally. Someone who agrees with my opinion." I laughed. "Okay okay okay. Now I have a very, very important question.... Do you believe in aliens?" he asked.
"Yes." I nodded. "Good otherwise we couldn't be friends." he said jokingly. I laughed as he joined in. "How tall are you?" he asked "5'7" I recalled. "I'm 6 feet." he smirked.
"Hecka tall." I laughed. "Yeah, yeah." he said brushing me off. His phone buzzed and he checked it. "Beverly says I have to get home." he sighed. "That sucks. But this was fun." I smiled. "Yeah. Maybe we should hang out again." he said. "We should." I smiled.
