Yuki pov:

I followed the messenger once again, blush lightly dappled on my cheeks. He had stared at me in surprise, then complimented me, which made me nervous. Why was I even here?

"Is this dinner going to get me some answers?" I asked, tilting my head as he looked over his shoulder at me. He nodded.

"Yes. The king and his advisor will answer any questions you ask," he explained. He looked forward again, a small frown slipping onto my face as he quickened the pace.

Soon we stood in front of large, you guessed it, marble doors. I heard him gulp, one of my eyes brows raising as I glanced at him. He stepped to the door, knocking once, then stepping back.

A large groan from the hinges signified the opening of the huge doors. I blinked, watching as they opened slowly, my eyes focussing on the dining table inside the room.

They were sitting in the chairs that formed a circle around the wooden table. I ground my teeth, stomping into the room and sitting on the chair with the only empty plate in front of it.

"Hello," I said, staring at them with narrowed eyes. The king smirked, cutting into his steak with a knife.

"Hello." He responded. He waved a hand at the large assortment of food on the table. "Choose what you like. Do not drink more than one glass of the wine." I nodded, though I was not old enough to drink. I shrugged to myself. Might as well try it.

I set a small steak on the plate as well as some mashed potatoes and green beans. I picked up my knife and fork, cutting into the meat with a small smile. The food smelt good, I bet it tasted that way too.

"May I ask your name? I am Gabriel, this is my advisor Damion." The king asked, taking a bite of his food, swallowing and giving me a small smile.

"Fine. My name is Yuki." I stated. I took a scoop of mashed potatoes and chewed a little before swallowing. His eyebrows rose as he leaned forward, resting his head on his hand.

"Yuki." For some reason my name on his lips made me blush a little. Anger quickly overturned those feeling, my cutting becoming a little more violent.

I took a quick sip of the wine, my eyes widening as sweetness splashed into my mouth. A slight tang swirled into the mix makes for an interesting taste. I set the glass down, licking my lips while staring at my food.

I glanced at Damion, frowning. It was time for some more answers.

"Why did you guys start the plague?" I asked, tilting my head as I ate a small green bean. Damion sighed, scratching his chin for a moment.

"One of our vision Fae saw into the future. Humans become destructive to nature, ripping forests from the soil and draining out rivers and lakes." Damion explained. I frowned, pushing back the tears that I wanted to cry for my dead family.

I took another sip of the wine to wash down my grief. "Why are some people alive?" I asked, setting the glass down silently.

"We could not kill the whole human race. A few chosen by mother nature survived. I do not know why you were chosen though. The mother of nature tends to like calm and gentle people, you are clearly not that." Gabriel explained. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"I will take that as a compliment. I am strong for my family, so I will continue to be myself, nothing can stop me." I took a small macaroon to prove my point, setting it on my plate. "Why did you bring me here?" I asked simply. They both looked a little nervous.

"well, you were strong enough to be chosen by mother nature, a despite knowing about us, you did not see scared to fight back, so I turned you into a Fae," Damion's voice trailed off into a quiet whisper. I knew they expected me to be angry, so I was going to give them angry in the form of the silent treatment.

I took the last sip of my wine, finishing up my food quickly. Then I glared at them, just sat there and glared at them. I did not know why they were so nervous around a human when they were basically immortal. Gabriel took a nervous sip of his drink, tapping his fingers on the table.

"do you want to go back to your room?" I ignored Damion's question, my hands intertwined on my lap. I stared at my plate, making my face blank. I saw him blink out of the corner of my eyes, but I kept my face emotionless. I stood up, the chair giving a soft squeak as it slid slightly. I picked up my plate, walking towards the supposed kitchen.

I then washed the plate, ignoring all the maids that gave me looks of question, but also awe. I looked at one girl who was 3 inches taller than me. I handed her the dry plate and turned on my heel to head towards my room. At the moment, I had nothing to do besides stay here and since they turned me into a Fae, or so they say, it was probably in my best intentions to stay. I would just continue to give them the silent treatment.

I walked back to my room, surprisingly knowing the way and which of the many doors lead to where I stayed. I sighed, opening the closet and hoping a nightgown would flow over me. one did, my hair looping itself into a messy bun. The hair on my neck rose again, my eyes narrowing as I glanced over my shoulder.

Were they watching me?

I shook my head, glad for the warm socks on my feet. A smirk played on my lips as I stared at the large empty space in front of me. I proceeded to run, then slid towards the bookshelves with a laugh.

Watch me have fun.

I grabbed the first book my hand touched, gliding across the floor again, jumping up onto the marble platform before plopping ungracefully onto the bed. I rolled around for a moment before settling and opening the book.

THE BOOK OF JOKES >.<
