Yuki Pov:
Today was the day of the ball. All the humans had been paired up, well, besides the one odd human out. We were sitting together on my bed, a small smile on my face as she did my hair. She had accepted me once I told her of my past, And she knew that the same thing was going to happen to her soon. One of the high Fae had kissed her already.
"You know the closet can easily do my hair with magic?" I asked. She chuckled as she pulled gently on my golden hair. she had half my hair in a braid, the rest in natural waves.
"I know, I just think it looks better if a person does it, it makes it look loved and taken care of, not magically thrown into a cute bun or braid," Autumn explained. "and your hair is really soft." She added. I chuckled.
I stood up, walking to the closet's mirror and staring at my dress. It hugged my body until it split into silk layers at my waist, soft material brushing the tips of my toes. The sleeves went to my fingertips and hung down a little like wings. My shoulders were bare along with my neck, the stag mark on my neck exposed.
"Oh, girl, you look good," Autumn teased. I nodded, flipping my hair dramatically.
"of course I do." She laughed as we latched arms, both of us walking out of my room and towards the ballroom. Mary joined us as we walked, her arms looping with my left one.
"Wow, you look pretty today lass!" Mary exclaimed. Both of them were bending down to make their head level with mine, which made me sigh softly.
"Thank you, Mary, I love the brown dress by the way," I looked at the maid's outfit she still wore. We all giggled until we reached the large doors to the ballroom. I feel like this place has way too much marble and way too many large doors to be safe. Mary pushed them open, holding one side as Autumn and I walked through. she followed us in, attempting to lead us to the dance floor, but I went straight for the food.
"Hungry much?" Mary teased, but I just rolled my eyes, adding a small shrug.
"I am eating for two," I shoved a chocolate covered strawberry in my mouth. "when is Gabriel going to arrive?" I asked, glancing around the crowd of humans and faeries. Mary snickered, patting my shoulder.
"Girly, he should be arriving on that balcony soon enough," She pointed to a platform that stuck out of the wall, you guessed it, small marble pillars acting as a fence. I could not help but stare as I ate more strawberries.
Then I saw him, a black suit covered his body, his hair pulled back. He looked handsome, light blush dappled my cheeks as I stared at him. Autumn nudged my shoulder with a smirk.
"You staring at your mate?" She teased. I stuffed another piece of fruit into my mouth, nodding a little.
"Duh," I glanced over my shoulder at her, winking. His voice then boomed around the ballroom.
"Today we gather for many occasions and announcements. As you know, all the humans here have been paired up so they can recreate their race. Kane will be going to the other courts soon to pair up the last humans as well. Another announcement, I have found my mate, my soon to be wife, my loved one. Her name is Yuki of The Owl, YOTO!" He waved a hand at me, everyone cheered my name with glee. "Our first heir will be born in 8 months time, when another ball will commence!" He added. Blush blossomed on my cheeks like roses. "You may dance!"
The choir started again, soft and powerful voices sung a song of life. Gabriel vanished from the ledge, my hands clasped together as I waited. Waited for him.
His hand brushed my shoulder from behind, my head turning to face him, a large smile on my face. Gabriel spun me around, his finger landing on my hips, my arms around his neck. It was a bit awkward because of how short I was, but still romantic.
We moved in a square, lost in each other's eyes as we swayed to the music. His lips pressed on my forehead, my smile widening.
"I love you, Gabriel." I whispered. He smirked, touching my chin with his fingers, stopping our movement.
"I love you too, Yuki." He then kissed my lips gently, pulling away to reveal the smile I love and always will.
